While true two of these three teams are statistically worse on defense than any team we've faced all year.

I think the schedule so far has been favorable for them

Are you retarded? We've played one of the toughest schedules in the SEC so far

they really lost the LSU game and they didn't do shite against the aggies

Never mind...you are retarded

they will go 1 and 4 to close out the rest of the SEC season

Maybe so, but I know that 1 win will be Gus carrying on his winning record against Bert and that sorry run defense

Ask Watson about our defense. And he's better than any of those 3

Auburn is a good team. They are a couple of playmakers away from being able to contend. Their defense is one of the top 2 or 3 in the sec but they lack playmakers on offense to be able to beat alabama, ole miss, a&m or UT.

It will be interesting to see how Arkansas responds after the fricking they got last weekend. They follow it up with a tough road game on the plains.

Well Arky gets to host OleMiss before they head over to the plains. This is a rough stretch for the Hogs.

Nobody is arguing that, but LSU have more losses than Auburn coming their way.

Makes me wonder if you've watched the team. We arguably have one of the best 1,2 RB combos in the league. Our O line is finally gelling and our WRs are getting better every week.

OM is giving up a ton of yards. We've already played A&M. I will never count us out of the Iron Bowl unless we're having a 2012 type season.

This isn't necessarily wrong, but I'm not sure it is right either. We don't have established playmakers yet, but we have a few that might be starting to emerge. Time will tell.

... Maybe?

They're last two games were against two pretty bad teams. The LSU game ended on weirdness x 20.

Their next two games are against Arkansas and Ole Miss. We'll have a better idea of their identity then, but even those teams won't be a good gauge on how well their offense has progressed (unless they get shut down, in which case AU's offense is still terrible).

They've been held under 20 points 3 times this year. Just because they had good showings against one of the worst scoring D's in the SEC and one of the worst scoring D's in the country doesn't mean they're "back".

Still, I'd be cool if they are improved. An Iron Bowl with both teams highly ranked works fine for me.

That said, I have a hard time seeing them beating Ole Miss prior to the IB, and I think the Arkansas game is a toss-up at this stage.

I've watched very little of Auburn. My impressions are the West comes down to Bama or TAMU, but Auburn could be a dark horse.

How is the defense this year?

Agreed. The offense looks better and the play calling more reasonable since gus quit calling plays, but we haven't played anyone since then. Defense is good and getting better. I don't see that changing much.

They've played 3 quality teams and only put up 13, 16, & 18 points.

The idea they've "figured out" the offense is a mirage of beating 3 crappy teams badly. Will be interesting to see them play Mississippi as a better gauge

They are quietly putting together a good season. Letting Lashlee call the game has greatly improved their playcalling. The defense is good and I'm impressed with their OL play. They're in a good place at 4-2 (2-1) and appear to have a favorable schedule until their showdown at Bama. Obviously, no one wants Bama right now, but I'll give them a fair shot. I can see Auburn contending for the SEC west.

No! They going to lose at least 3 more games possibly 4.

But the scoring offense numbers aren't in line with the total offense either. So, I would argue that the offense as a whole isn't as bad as it looked against the 3 "quality" and maybe not as good as it has looked recently.

To the OP, yes, compared to the nonsense you heard on this site preseason and at the beginning of the season. The LSU game was closer to being a 2 touchdown win than a loss for anyone who watched it. As Auburn fans have been saying our D is good enough to keep us in any game. The O is showing promise, but still has a way to go to beat an elite team. Loses to ole miss and bama are likely, wins against vandy and A&M are assured. uga and arkie are games we can win, but can lose. A split in those two wouldn't shock me, nor would winning both. I would be surprised if we lost both.
