Under Bama rules (where you can win the title despite losing the bowl to the team that you finish ahead of) we should get a split title for 1995.

Auburn committed a bunch of violations in 2010 such as changing players' grades, so according to your logic, Michael Dyer should not have been playing for the 2010 game
That's a new one. Link?

4 for LSU, not 2

Pretty simple really: Jameis should've been in jail that night for rape. Kind of ironic without a rapist on the field, Auburn would've raped FSU. Also, it's just a matter of time before some Reggie Bush shite is exposed and they have to forfeit.
Auburn University, your 2013 Could've, Would've, Should've National Champions!

This is a disturbing lack of understanding of reality. In the years you are referring to, Bama won the AP and/or UPI titles, the only ones that mattered at the time. Period. Does any instance exist in which a school does NOT claim titles awarded by one of these two organizations? It's totally fine if you don't respect those titles, but that doesn't change the fact that they happened. At any rate, a system was in place at the time, yet Florida didn't win shite in 1995 besides the SEC. You are comparing apples to spaceships.

I assume that as well, hence my comment. Because some website shows a bunch of non-consequential titles on it, hardly can be translated to "OU can claim". That's massively ignorant. Oklahoma cannot claim a bunch of those because nobody cares about them.

We should claim absolutely. Miami getting the crown is the definition of mythical and arbitrary national champions. we played and beat something like 9 ranked teams that season.

Why am I not surprised that a UF fan has no idea what he's talking about when it comes to CFB history?

A lot of those supposed selectors on there aren't even in the NCAA records book either.

Like Bear Bryant himself said "We'll accept any National Championship awarded to us, even if it was by a laundromat in Tuscaloosa."
So I'll take it

Which basically makes them irrelevant, outside of an "hey that's interesting" sort of way. Nobody claims them. Nobody really cares about them.
Some of the origins of those are rather funny when you consider people think winning team means their team "can claim them".

You mean something like 6.

One of them is called the ARGH Rankings. I imagine a bunch of pirates sitting around a table.

I'll actually support the Barners for once...they played 4 teams who finished ranked in the top 10 (plus we finished #15) while Miami only played 2. They should've at least gotten a share of the title.

I'll support them too, they should have one. However, they beat 6 ranked teams, no more.

Ok. Not too mention our only loss was to #3 Texas, and we beat #5 Florida who routed Miami. Still pisses me off today
