They beat the (already named national champion) OU Sooners in the Sugar Bowl. They were coached by Bryant. They lost in the regular season to Tennessee

They claim it 66 years later.
Atleast ATM already had a legit one from 1939 so nobody noticed their additions. But to go from 0 to 1?

Remind us to dust off our 1960 trophy...

You didn't win 1960. That was split between Ole Miss and Minnesota. Check the NCAA website for yourself.

People can scream it's a joke title claim all they want but the NCAA recognizes it just like they recognize LSU and USC's in 2003.

Then that'll be 7 for Coach Bryant I believe.

It sucks the loss to Kansas was overturned late after the result. Missouri was #1 before the loss. Since they got the win back, it was too late unfortunately.

Missouri should have been national champions for 1960. Instead, an 8-1 Minnesota won it before losing the Rose Bowl. 10-0-1 Ole Miss was left out, and rightfully so for certain reasons.

Only reason why UK won 1950 SEC over Tennessee is because of more SEC games played. Both UT and UK had one conference loss. Tennessee has more of a claim than Kentucky.

Not the worst claim I've seen.

Texas A&M went from 1 to 3 championships overnight. Every player and coach on their two fake national championship teams were deceased by the time they claimed it from a poll that came out 70 years after those two seasons.

Both claims are ridiculous.

Alabama will soon claim 1950 also because of Bryant.

They've been claiming it for decades. This isn't new.

I've posted this before but this is what each SEC program could claim based on the records book:

Alabama: 1925 26 30 34 41 45 61 64 65 66 73 75 77 78 79 92 2009 11 12 15
Arkansas: 1964 77
Auburn: 1913 57 83 93 2010
Florida: 1984 85 96 06 08
Georgia: 1920 27 42 46 68 80
Kentucky: 1950
LSU: 1908 35 36 58 62 2003 07
Missouri: 1960
Ole Miss: 1959 60 62
Tennessee: 1938 40 50 51 56 67 98
Texas A&M: 1919 27 39
Vanderbilt: 1920 21

Nothing for MSU and USCjr.

They could've at least been subtle about the fake trophy and not made it look like the actual Coaches trophy. Jeez.

sweet. If Kentucky gets this one it legitimizes my claim on 1909, 1964, 1965 and 1977 for Arkansas.

Still waiting on the NCAA to do their job for the 2010 title.

They should name an award after Bear. Coach of the year maybe?

What's the big deal? This isn't the first SEC team to do this.

OU had won 32 straight going into the game so anybody saying they didn't care about the bowl is nuts.

Tennessee lost to 4-6 Southern Miss and were 10-1, having beaten Texas in the Cotton Bowl, 20-14. UK was also 10-1, beating OU 13-7 in the Sugar Bowl. Both games were played on Jan. 1, 1951.

Advantage, UK.
