Haley and Chavis had an in-home scheduled with Williams, but the Tuesday $4.99 all you can eat buffet was too good of an opportunity to pass up.
Free dessert of your choice too.

Who cares about one recruit. You also got Tony Brown who can't stay out of trouble. You got hootie jones who never see's the field and we ended up getting Adam who will be a 1st round pick.

I seem to remember him not really being interested in LSU. Les and pals recruited him at some point, wasn't gonna happen. What a ridiculous thread from go

What an absurd statement. I remember Williams having lukewarm interest in LSU at best. If Williams wanted to stay in Baton Rouge, he would have. It's pretty clear he didn't. How the hell did Miles "botch" anything. What a homer article.

I agree. He was able to do nothing but rush the passer last year on 3rd down because he had a ridiculous front 7 to cover for him. Now that he has to be a full time player, you'll see just how weak his game is.

I wonder what the narrative would be if Williams played for LSU and decided to return after having 10 sacks- which would have been the most for LSU last year.

This is a sentence that I argue is the most idiotically hyperbolic I've ever read

One of a handful that actually worked out for Bama.
Congrats

I don't see the point of this thread. Big time programs go after Big time players. Bama has lost recruiting battles too.

Why is it that when someone from Louisiana decides to leave the state, somehow it's a "botched recruiting." If that isn't the smarmiest, most smug-arse arrogant fantasy. But I wouldn't expect less from some redneck rag like 'Bamahammer.'
What about the majority of Louisiana blue-chippers and many out-of-state prized recruits that DID choose LSU?? Were they like 'accidents.' ?????
It's bad enough your fan base is the worst bunch of "winners" I've ever seen, now you have Hooterville news outlets spewing Gumpaganda. Jesus fricking Christ I hate you motherfrickers.

Bama fans still mad About Cam Newton

He grew up in town and probably made it clear he was a traitor so LSU rightfully went else where !

Alabama won the SEC 9 out of 11 seasons between 1971 and 1981. The other 2 seasons they finished 2nd. From 1977 to 1981 they won the SEC 4 out of 5 times. But from 1982 to 1985 they finished 6th, 3rd 7th and 3rd.
In 1982 Alabama was recruiting a lifelong Alabama fan named Vincent Jackson. Some Bama recruiter told him that he "might" start by his junior season. Meanwhile, the coach at Auburn, coming off back to back 5-6 seasons, no bowl game appearances in 7 seasons and hadn't won an SEC Championship in a quarter of a century told him there was a good chance he could play as a freshman.
Auburn went on to win the SEC game in Jackson's sophomore and 4 times in the 80's. Alabama would not win the SEC again until tying Auburn in 1989. Jackson, better known as Bo also had a pretty fair career at Auburn that culminated in a Heisman Trophy.
But a kid from Baton Rouge who didn't want to go to LSU and plays in 33% of Alabama's defensive snaps as a junior is surely the "biggest botched recruitment in college football history".
