"Entering the 2016 season, Tim Williams is projected as a high first-round draft pick by almost every early mock draft available. He finished the 2015 season with 10.5 sacks, 8 hits, and 33 hurries, while playing roughly 33-percent of Alabama’s defensive snaps. Williams is poised to take on a full-time role with the Crimson Tide in 2016.

While every staff whiffs on the recruiting trail, the recruitment of Tim Williams was more than a common swing-and-miss. Les Miles didn’t even swing. He stood in place while Nick Saban hurled a fastball that left black eyes all over the LSU football program.

LSU’s staff casually passed on an All-American that went to high school on LSU’s campus, and later became the most dominant pass rusher of the Nick Saban era. A decision that I argue may result in the biggest botched recruitment in college football history."

You just put so much bad karma on Tim Williams. Dude's probably gonna tear his ACL now thanks to you.

Let's not act like big time programs were knocking down his door to get him to come play QB. LSU wanted him to play TE.

This is actually kind of sad.

You've got to love the obsession Louisiana players that leave the state have with LSU. I'm pretty sure Landon Collins always had to make a point during press conferences about his college choice, as if anyone cared at that point.

Anyway, who cares? Alabama passed on Kwon alexander. Plus we already know Brick Haley sucks

We'll see how he pans out. He had a nice year last year. That article is absolutely ludicrous in making the claim that he is the best pass rusher in the nation or the worst "botched" recruiting ever. It doesn't even register. Every staff makes mistakes all the time. You're analyzing hundreds of recruits every year, trying to get the numbers to work in this age of only 25 scholarships per year. LSU's recruiting staff has consistently been one of the best in the nation, too good at times when we kept losing great juniors to the NFL draft (at a much higher clip than Alabama).

This is just plain dumb and really really grasping at straws.

LSU offered and recruited him. He committed to another school. I think Miami. He then told everyone he knew there was no way he was staying in Louisiana. Les then pulled his offer. Les has fricked up some recruitments (Dak) but Tim wasnt one of them.

I remember this very well and it's was a combination of several different things and none of them having to do with a "botched" recruitment.
I. He was too skinny. Notice it took him 3 years within the program to get to the right size and he's only played 30 % of defense from last season.
2. Chavis. No explanation needed he didn't want anything to do with Tim Williams. He praised Tashawn Bowers. Yikes.
3. Tim didn't even want to go to LSU. In the beginning Tim wanted a bidding war between LSU and Bama and this is why they didnt continue to press him. I agree too he wasn't that type of recruit. I mean if he doesn't get to just pass rush on 3rd down and eats sacks would any body even know his name? He was pro Bama a long time before signing day. I'm sure someone who was at Uhigh at the time could back me up.
