Would MSU have won the BCS title in 2010 with Cam? They went 9-4 without him.

That's a damn good question. Cam was a fricking monster that year.

We've won it baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, soccer, volleyball, swimming & diving, tennis, and track & field. Football is just a matter of time.

Your best team ever still lost 2 games and finished 3rd in the division.

He'd do a helluva lot better than Sumlin.

Really surprised Texas didn't make a go at him a couple years ago. He was big time at Florida. Someone will get Mullen at a discount one of these days.

Nah. Auburn also had Fairley, an extremely good and experienced OL, and nearly 30 seniors to lean on and we still barely won with a FG as time expired.

The West was weak that year, but without Cam-led AU to take out Bama and LSU and a pretty good Arky team, it's not a given they would've won the division. However if they did they definitely would've beaten a weak South Carolina team. Even if they do win the SEC with Cam that year I think they would've slipped up and not made the BCSNCG. Auburn had a better supporting cast for Cam IMO and still had several close calls. If they had managed to still make the BCSNCG Oregon would've beaten them, Cam plays like an actual human in title games and again AU with a better team barely won.

FWIW Merlin is 2-4 all time vs Sumlin coached teams.

1-1 vs Houston and 1-3 vs A&M

Would Dan Mullen win the SEC at Texas A&M
You idiots realize the only proven thing about that is that MSU boosters tried to pay Cam, right? If that had been a relevant school instead of MSU then the NCAA would have torn yalls asses up.

If Mullen's little p4p scheme had worked and Cam had gone to MSU nobody would have ever known shite because you're an idiot if you think MSU would have turned themselves in, and assuming Cecil approached AU with an offer we aren't snitches like Mullen's butthurt bitch arse.

ASSUMING CECIL APPROACHED AU?????? Best joke I've heard today

Hell yes. The last time Mississippi St was close to being this successful consistently was 97-00'. Before that it was a long arse time to find any winning success that lasted more than 2 years.

I wanted LSU to look at him last year and still do whenever Miles leaves or whatever. There's only so high you can go at Miss St and the ceiling seems to be around where he is at.

Last year omitted he's always had a good running game and the passing game came into light the last 4 years. He does what he does with 3 stars at they few 4 and 5 stars he picks up here and there. Thinking of what he could do with top Louisiana or Texas talent is scary. I mean offensively we already see what he's done when he had all that talent at UF and then replicated it similarly at Miss St with way less to work with.

Probably. I think all A&ms problems pretty much stem from Sumln and a few other things but mostly Sumlin.

Dan Mullen develops players probably better than any other coach in the league. He has had a great deal of success with basically SEC leftovers for players. If he ever landed at a school like LSU, Bama, or aTm that had the resources to back him, he would be a force.

maybe but I think his odds are similar at MSU. Money doesn't buy championships unless it's money you got from a championship.

2nd and we whipped your arse. You won the title, but everyone saw who the best team was. We went on to beat OU. OU went on to beat you the very next year. Not quite apples to apples, but anyone with half a brain knew we were better.

The answer is NO, he wouldn't win at A&M because his offense is terrible no matter where he is coaching....and he apparently meddles in the defense too much too.

The thing holding Mullen back is not Mississippi State, it is his inability to recruit well, particularly offensive linemen. And that is due to his buddy Hevesy, who I presume would also be with him at A&M. Sherrill had a lot of awesome offensive lines, so its not MSU preventing Mullen from finding some good ones.

Would he have won a NC with Cam? Probably not. They would have beaten Auburn that year, obviously, because Auburn would not have had Cam. They would have beaten Arkansas, too, since they went to OT with Arkansas without Cam. But I doubt Cam would have made a 20 point difference against LSU and Alabama, particularly with Mullen running the offense.
