If Freeze is innocent here, along with the program he runs, then I think you can argue that not only would he want to tell his story in the sworn deposition, but he would want it to be public record because it would dovetail perfectly with his non-sworn comments in the NCAA investigation.

I don't understand how Ole Miss fans are trying to defend this.
If you have nothing to hide then there is nothing to worry about with the deposition.

Is it really hard to think Ole Miss wants to control his response? Ole Miss is about to release a full document addressing the NOA with answers that are full of much more detail and sources then he could ever give in the depo. Why wouldn't he want to that be his public release rather a depo that is controlled by a third party suing a former player.

This x 100. If it were a State coach in this same situation those self-righteous bastards would be eating it up. I don't care how much you love or want to defend Ole Miss surely you have to think this makes Freeze look more and more like a shady bastard.

Like I said the other day, this may have gotten beyond circling the wagons to protect the program. It could very well be every man for himself.

A deponent can explain any answer at deposition. It's not as if this is cross examination where the opposing attorney is trying to elicit a certain response. It's a discovery deposition.

Meh. I refused to believe all the shite raining down on Alabama in the fallout of the Albert Means scandal. Fans are going to do that. Then again, there's a lot more stuff playing out right before our eyes than 16 years ago.

Freeze is not fully involved in all of the details of everything that the athletic department know and the case is not about the full details. They spent 90 days creating a detailed answers as a department to address the NOA specific infractions now you want to go into the full detail of what ever question asked by a completely separate 3rd party completely addressing all the facts and details he is asked in the deposition in much less time considering it was reported that the depo has to be completed with in 30 days of the filing so that time is almost up.
That is totally unrealistic.
That is totally unrealistic.

And what the frick are ya'll doing?
Calling us self righteous bastards. That's funny as hell.
Not a SINGLE SEC coach would want to be a part of this given the exact same situation. All coaches know at least a little of the dirty secrets their program has laying around. Every single fan bashing freeze/OM here is a Pot calling us black.
This makes Freeze look no shady than anyone else in college football. Maybe to the average average "oh I follow football from Sept to December" fan. But anyone that follows football like the majority of us on this site know damn well that every damn team cheats. And I don't know of a single OM fan on here even before we reached this point that honestly thought we were doing this legit.
Good lord you State fans are fricking pathetic.

Horseshite. So, it's not because of the "Faith based program" or all recruits love Oxford?

But but but but but but but Hugh Freeze is a righteous Christian man who is honorable to a fault, he would never ever lie. He's a crusader for the truth.

I don't know or I don't remember are perfectly acceptable answers in a deposition. The only unacceptable answer is going to be not answering at all or, for purposes of the NCAA, lying. He is not speaking for Ole Miss he is speaking as Hugh Freeze. If he doesn't know something he doesn't have to make it up.

Exactly. GatorReb is full of shite. If all you OM fans knew cheating has went on why didn't y'all tell Hugh? He is obviously oblivious to all of this.

It just funny to watch how you get so mad when people take shots at Tenn for unproven accusation but then turn around and do it to everyone else It really is entertaining.

Well that's certainly true but hopefully no other coach or school would be naive or ignorant enough or whatever word you want to use to release the following statement which then inserted Hugh, himself, directly into the situation.
quote:
"We can confirm that Laremy Tunsil turned himself in and was arrested for a misdemeanor, domestic violence-simple assault," Freeze said in a statement provided to ESPN. "The incident occurred Thursday night and involves Laremy defending his mother against his stepfather.
"Laremy realizes he could have handled it differently, but I am proud of him for standing up for his mother and protecting his family. Laremy and his mother have also pressed charges against the stepfather. As we gather more facts, we will act and make decisions accordingly."

Exactly, I don't blame him for not wanting to be deposed but he got himself into this situation. Most coaches are not this reckless.

Coachs want to believe their players and that happens more then you think. Just look at the whole USC case when their player "jumped from the second floor to save a family member". But I would say that the facts will come out but this case will settle so we will probably never know.

Mississippi State attorney. Fishing for attention from Schtaters. Trying to beat OM the only way they know how because it damn sure isn't happening on the football field in the foreseeable future. Nothing to see here.

It is because they are letting their fandom get the better part of their common sense. If placed in this situation, every SEC fanbase would probably act in similar fashion.
