Harper’s stat line tonight:
Jared Harper had himself a night!

31 points
9-18 FG
7 assists
4 rebounds
2 steals

He already leads all players in G league with 20+ point games. I’m ready for him to be an NBA regular.

We went through a funk last year too. Same issue. Players trying to do too much instead of playing through each other and sharing the ball. We'll be alright but it's hard to watch in the meantime.

Team is so different than last year, its going to be harder for them to come back. Not having the outside and 3 point shooting, they need to stay up in games. Just dont have that come back power as last years team

They are a solid team but not a great team. They will lose a lot of games this year. its just starting.

What do u call a lot of games?

I think the key is just making adjustments and then getting confidence back.

And Bruce has found those keys before. And we did struggle last year and made adjustments. Different players doesn’t mean they can’t adjust especially w an experienced group like we have.

I think we lose 7 in regular season personally, give or take a game

Yea, 5 or 6 more seems logical. But starting out 15-0 really helps that with the ending record. Im just wondering if this team will be able to play with good teams down the stretch

Hopefully they will

Any clues as to how we will tweak the team moving into next year? Recruit more pure shooters ?!?

Sharife Cooper is the answers to our questions. There’s no need for clues when we know the answer

He signed a pure shooter out of KY... Powell.... cooper can also shoot better than any guard we have on the roster right now.

Without Harper and Chuma, this year was always gonna be a transition season... just gotta gut it out and see what happens.

I’m curious if Bruce will try to recruit another true center that is extremely physical or move towards running a three forward type setup

The main ones we appear to be after look like slimmer guys that can run and shoot. Fact of the matter is that Bruce’s offense works best when you can spread the floor.

Is Cooper the kind of talent that will be one and done like Okoro?

Cooper is the kind of talent that makes every semi-talented team make sense. We will be good next year basically no matter what our roster looks like beyond what we already know.

He isn’t the typical one and done type talent though in that short point guards typically aren’t the flavor of the NBA. I’ve been telling everyone for two years I’m more excited about him than any recruit ever

I would be surprised if we have him for more than one year. He’s probably the best passer in the class and shoots the ball very well. If he were 6’2 or 6’3 he’d probably be the top PG in the class and a top 10 player.

Problem now is there's no Harper or Brown. Those guys would routinely go for 20+ on any given night. They scored in spurts too which dug us out of holes and extended leads.

We win when Doughty goes off. If you look at the box scores from our losses and games we've struggled in he's been kept silent

In the overtime win vs Furman he had 13 in 41 minutes.

Vs Vandy 6 points in 33 minutes

Averaged 10ppg in our losses to Bama and UF.

For someone that has 7 or 8 20+ games this season that hurts when they only score 8 or so points.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see some new sets to get him back involved heavily.

We are who we thought we were all along, a fringe top 25 team. Nothing wrong with that and making the ncaa tournament has always been the priority. Still on schedule

We have 2 spots left. They are going to 2 bigs or 1 big & 1 wing. If Okoro leaves we are leaning to looking to then add a PG via the Grad Transfer route. Of the guys committed Powell is supposedly a really good shooter. Sharife should give more consistent PG play than we are getting this year at the point.

JGT has said several times he thinks the staff now views Turbo as a 2 and not a 1.
