Jake
@jakeweingarten
Auburn has landed five-star guard Sharife Cooper during his official visit, a source told
@Stockrisers.
In addition, they’re in good position for Jalen Green. Big things going for Bruce Pearl in Auburn.

Great news. Hopefully him pulling the trigger will get a couple more guys to jump on board too. Kinda can't believe it actually happened lol.

From PAM. May not mean much, but.

We asked one who is familiar with the ways of NCAA enforcement about Auburn’s situation in basketball. Here’s what he told us:

“I don’t know all the specifics, but these days, the NCAA is much more focused on paying recruits than on extra benefit cases involving enrolled student-athletes, especially when the school responds in the right way. As I understand it, that’s what Auburn’s case is. It seems like Auburn was proactive in dealing with it and that it was all about one assistant coach, who was fired. I’d be surprised if Auburn gets hit hard. It looks like they are really going after programs that have been closely tied to the shoe companies in recruiting

I hope Okoro comes back a second year to play with Sharife.

Those two and Stretch obviously played together in HS, but Devan Cambridge also played with all 3 of them on the same AAU team

Those 4 already having chemistry together like that could help make up for our lack of upperclassmen next year

That's what seemed special to me too was seeing Stretch and Okoro happy to see their teammate follow their footsteps. It's be cool to see him and Okoro play at least one year together at Auburn.

Final Four rings handed out to the team last night, but Bruce gave Barkley one tonight when the basketball team was honored at the football game

It's like when you think these things can't get any better and they do... What a sincere thing to do for Chuck on the part of CBP and the program. I love all of this.

Said if feels like home. He later said he wanted to take his visits and play in a place that feels like home. FWIW

Green said Auburn was different. “A supportive place.” He complimented the atmosphere and the Auburn family.

He won’t decide until Christmas Day.

He did say his recruitment is wide open. Oregon is believed to be the favorite right now.

Edit: and what Thai said.

I don't see us having more than one loss at that point, if not undefeated. That timing could work in our favor

Our biggest threats before Christmas are Wisconsin or Richmond in Brooklyn, and NC State in Auburn Arena. After that the only real challenges before that are Saint Louis and Davidson but both are at home
