Nick Gentry. After he left it seemed impossible for us to get d line pressure until last year.

Rudy, Cass, and Kozan were all fairly decorated recruits. Darvin, Clayton, and Rod Smith would definitely fit the "underrated" category. Zach Clayton was recruited more as a shot put guy for track than he was a football player. I think AU was his only major offer. And he made Nick Fairley better by taking pressure off him on the d-line

For LSU, it's got to be Rahim Alem. He was a beast as an end and was always overshadowed by his brother Chad Jones.

LeRon McClain for Alabama. Maybe not so much under rated as simply under utilized. He was a monster and Shula barely used him at all. If he played under Saban he probably would have scored about 30 touchdowns in goal line situations alone.

In terms of as a recruit, Trey Flowers. 2* with only an offer from GaTech before we offered. He played a little as a freshman, and you could see athleticism and football IQ from the start.
As a hog, Jonathan Luigs. 3 time 1st team all SEC and 2007 Remington Award winner.

Josh Chapman was the first guy to pop into my mind.
he's a great guy too. He's now an assistant with Bama Strength & Conditioning which should be perfect for him considering that ESPN once did an article on him calling him he strongest player in CFB.
Hope he does well in coaching, I got a signed copy of the SI he was on the cover of and I wouldn't mind it's value increasing

I hear he's going back to school. Is this new now that he may be done with football or has he always gone back to LSU during the offseason?

Absolutely agree with this one. I could not think of his name earlier today when I saw this thread.
Nobody knew about him but he was always making plays. He was everywhere on 1/9/12.

Excellent choices. I would add Stevan Ridley.

If he plays anywhere else he would have been a much better player. Our defensive staff screwed his chances at the NFL.

Was just about to name him. Dude could get off the snap so fast and could get a lot of pressure on QBs. He was a part of a great defense with so many great players that he never gets the recognition he deserves.
Also, his strip of Jordan Jefferson in the NC game.

Darian Stewart or Antonio Allen for SC. Those two guys made play after play, but never really got any accolades. Both are in the NFL now, though, and Stewart was a beast in the Super Bowl for the Broncos.
