2001? That was during the Jackie Sherrill tenure, right?

LSU woulda hung with anybody at that point in the season
Still were no where near as talented as #2 ranked UT or Miami.

Destroyed a very good Illinois team
The same Illinois team that was crushed by Michigan who was in turn lost to UT by 28 pts in the Citrus Bowl?

That we can agree on.

No wait, 1998
2001 was the end of his coaching career at Msu.

Bama georgia on the 20th anniversary was the shite. What a Rollercoaster ride.

2012 bama-georgia was the best game played that season

1998 was the year we played Tennessee for the Sec championship but 1999 we went 10-2 and lost to Bama which was the game that dictated the west champs. Shaun Alexander late made an incredible catch and run that broke our back

the kevin prentiss punt return td was a thing of beauty

Have any idea how good Miami was?Perhaps their greatest team ever and FULL of NFL talent.
Wouldn't have been close.

This game will always haunt UGA fans. Maybe because, outside of '02 and '07, it's the closest UGA been to the title game in the BCS era. Not only that, but UGA would've beat Notre Dame (a la 1980). Still hurts, but it was a hell of a game.

2012 Bama-UGA is definitely the best one from a drama standpoint. 2008 Bama-UF has to be in the top 2-3.
While the OP does seem to be a homer ranking, all of the games involving Bama that were listed did have NC implications. That should increase the magnitude of the game, to a certain extent. Add in that those were fantastic games, well...why would he be wrong?

The SEC won NCs in:
92
96
98
03
06
07
08
09
10
11
12
15
^ bold years SECCG didn't involve Bama. Obviously all these SECCGs had NC implications. Also games like LSU-UT 01 had NC implications.
Once again, no one cares that a bama fan thinks 4 of the 6 you played are among the top 5. I know it is hard for you to comprehend, but there is football outside of Bama, and the SEC does just fine when you are irrelevant

We would have gotten rolled by Miami, no doubt about it.
Everyone else we could have hung with.

Prentiss ran a 3.7 40 on that punt return.

UF and Arkansas had a hell of a game in 06 too, when UF went on to win the NC... Douche bag
That game was nuts. So many weird momentum swings.

Were those great games?

if by great games you mean were they close, and did they have nc implications.
Then yes.
If by great games you mean did Alabama play in them.
Then no
Are you not reading other teams posts/stories in this thread? Just like you don't watch their games apparently

Alabama fans are notorious for not knowing dick about college football history outside of their own team.
