How did Hugh Freeze become a top 10 recruiter over night?

Freezes first recruiting class in 2012 was ranked 40th on rivals, obviously this was because of the coaching change so we will discard this.

In 2013 his class was ranked 7th. Pretty big jump for one year. That was his all-star class.

In 2014 it went to 19th.

In 2015 21st. So now he is on a downward trend.

This year he is back up to 4th perhaps his best class to date. So besides 2013 he seems to be a average/good recruiter but for some reason he gets a top 10 class once every 2 or 3 years. Most of the time you see these rankings average out but he is either high or low.

Whats most puzzling about this is the lack of on the field success. Usually you see these numbers jump up when you are successful on the field like win championships. 5 star Recruit's don't typically go to schools where they lose to Memphis. Just really puzzling.

5* recruits don't usually go to schools that lose to UL-Monroe. Just really puzzling

LSU's recruiting at a very high level, so there goes that theory.

247 Composite:
2013: 8
2014: 15
2015: 17
2016: top 5

So, consistently top 20 with 2 years top 10. Yeah, huge jumps... Coming of back to back NY6 Bowl games and proving he can consistently compete in Oxford. With a lot of talent in Mississippi this year. But I'm sure you weren't looking for a real answer.

I mean at least Bama knows how to parlay cheating into significant on the field success. Ole Miss can't even manage to do that.

Probably has something to do with the fact this is the first class this staff has been in on since they were in middle school.

True but theirs also the on the field success and maintaining that level of recruitment. Question is how can he maintain it with very few NFL prospects compared to the other top SEC schools.

I mean that not a good pitch at all.
2014 3 26 90 Donte Moncrief Colts WR
2012 4 17 112 Bobby Massie Cardinals

Then the on the field success:
2012 Ole Miss 7–6 3–5 5th (West) W BBVA Compass
2013 Ole Miss 8–5 3–5 T–5th (West) W Music City
2014 Ole Miss 9–4 5–3 3rd (West) L Peach† 19 17
2015 Ole Miss 10–3 6–2 2nd (West) W Sugar† 9 10

Average until this year.

So how does he do it?
