How will Jake Coker be remembered?

You look at the QBs who played for Saban over the last nine seasons:
John Parker Wilson
Greg McElroy
AJ McCarron
Blake Sims
Jake Coker
And you see that all of them led us to the SEC Championship Game at least once. Of the five, Wilson is the only one who failed to win one. And of the four who won SEC titles, Sims is the only one of them who didn't go on to win a national title. But Sims was probably the most prolific of the four, despite not getting a national championship.
McElroy led us to an undefeated season in 2009, AJ McCarron broke all the QB records while at Alabama, Sims holds the single season yardage record, and Coker is the only one of them who finished his career undefeated as a starter.
So where does that put Coker and how will fans remember him 20 years from now?

He played hard and was fearless but his head for the game was so erratic. He definitely won a couple of games for Bama but let's be honest with last years defense this was a 4 loss team with him at QB.

i will always remember jake as one TOUGH dude........he has lots of heart and guts.....he will forever be a champion.....roll tide....

A touch below AJ, and even with McElroy for 2nd in my book. Undefeated as a started and winner of a NC, long list of QB's who played that can't claim that.

He's a guy who could have been the best of them all of he had come here right out of high school. As it was, he was still learning how to be a qb in his rs senior season, but it was still enough to win the title. He won us some games with his clutch play

He will be remembered by me like this:
Someone who I admittedly counted out at the first of the season.
Someone who, halfway through the season, I realized was actually a decent game manager, who was tough as hell, and was a hell of a competitor.
Someone who, by the end of the NC game, I realized was actually pretty damn talented, and will play in the NFL.

Tough,gritty guy. Leader, great player to have in the locker room. First to practice,last to leave. Deceptive athleticism. Coaches son,high football iq. Keeps a copy of the playbook in the shitter

14-0 as a starter. To me, it'll always be "what if" for that Ole Miss game. The Coker we saw late in the season would've made plays that we weren't able to make in the first half against Ole Miss.

Loved his toughness and clutch scrambles. Have always hated his mechanics and thought he held the ball way too long. Was surprised we won it all with him. Improved dramatically from beginning to end. Still probably 4 or 5 out of the QBs listed in the OP for me.

He'll be remembered as the toughest and most determined QB ever in the Saban era who stood up to the occasion and NEVER gave up
He has likely the best measureables and arm talent of any of the other Saban QBs and like many of you have said, was easily the toughest. He WANTED to win more than anything else, that's why we never lost again after the Ole Miss game.
Definitely one of my favorite players to come through Bama while Saban has been here

He will be remembered as a national championship winner. First and foremost. He made some big plays at the end of the season. We will always have love for him. Oddly reminds me somewhat of Spencer Pennington. Jake was way more talented. That Is not my point. Pennington truly loved Alabama football. Gave it all. He was tough. He did the best with what he had. Gary Hollingsworth comes to mind as well.
Coker obviously had a great team around him and he won their respect. We should respect him as well.

Mcelroy was pretty tough. He won is that sec championship game playing with cracked ribs.

I don't see how you could put Coker behind JPW. The hatred that some have for Coker even after all he has done is astounding. For all the credit that our defense is given, our defense folded in the biggest game of the year. Our offense is the reason the title parade tomorrow is in Tuscaloosa, not Clemson. And he did all of that with arguably the worst pass blocking offensive line since 2007.
I'd put Coker at #2, behind AJ McCarron. He was tough, gritty, and improved dramatically. He came through under the clutch, unlike other QBs that some have ranked higher than him. Personality wise, I like him better than AJ because of AJ's doucheness.
