I wouldn't trade where I live in Alabama for anywhere else in the SEC, Huntsville/Madison.

Every SEC state has good places to live, except Mississippi. Even the best places in Mississippi(Madison, Ocean Springs, Oxford), still kinda suck.

I'v never been to Atlanta, could anybody compare it to Dallas for me? Is it similar to Dallas at all? Which is better?

I have lived in Tennessee for 28 years and don't plan on moving. I love it here.

Florida is probably the trashiest state in the south. There's ratty arse people crawling around every corner of that state.

I don't know where Georgia people get their superiority complex from. Is it Atlanta? Not even Atlanta can overshadow every other dilapidated podunk town in this state.

Texas is a barren wasteland full of nothing. Plus there's more rednecks in Texas than the rest of the south combined.

Georgia and Florida.

I wouldn't live in any of the other shitholes of a state if you paid me.

1. Nashville
2. Dallas
3. Austin
4. Charleston
5. Savannah
6. South Florida
7. San Antonio
8. Houston
9. Ft. Worth
10. Orlando
11. New Orleans
12. Atlanta
13. St. Louis/Kansas City
14. Birmingham
15. Tampa Bay

The last places I'd want to live:

1. Anywhere in Mississippi
2. Texarkana
3. Little Rock
4. Mobile
5. The rest of Alabama
6. Memphis

I could make other places work. The Florida panhandle, Northwest Arkansas, even North Louisiana... I am unfamiliar with Kentucky, Missouri outside of the big cities and Branson, Georgia outside of Atlanta and Savannah and South Carolina outside of Charleston.

I live in South Carolina and I hate it, but that probably has more to do with me being nearly 28 and never having lived anywhere else than it does South Carolina sucking.

I wouldn't want to live in any SEC state preferably. Want to move out to California where a good buddy of mine lives. My brother's former band mate just up and moved to LA on a whim this month and I really respect that, but I could probably never do it. I would've considered it if my friend wasn't married.

Out of the 50 states and the District of Columbia, this (in no particular order except for keeping the same #10 and #11 and putting Louisiana at #1) would probably be my bottom 11.

I'm a 5th generation Texan. I love Texas deeply. It's where I most want to live.

But Arkansas is a beautiful state, and a great place to live. If you live in Arkansas and still place it that low, you're doing it wrong. Maybe your in southeastern Arkansas.

Honestly I have no issues with any of the SEC states. All have their own beauty. Big difference when you talk about entertainment and quality of life around you.

I have lived in 3 of them. Out of the three it's definitely 1.Texas 2. Arkansas 3. Mississippi
This list is pretty difficult because there are places in every state NO ONE wants to live in. However I'll do this list by best city(s) to live in that state.

1. Texas (Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio) Texas is just too big and great to not be #1.
2. Louisiana (New Orleans) You could never pay me enough money to live in a single other part of the state.
3. Florida (Miami, Orlando) beautiful women, beautiful beaches.
4. Arkansas (NWA) One of the most gorgeous areas of the country, alma matter, and great opportunities.
5. Tennessee (Memphis, Nashville) Fun cities, great food, and good outdoors stuff.
6. Kentucky (Louisville) One of the most amazing parts of the country and some of the best weed you'll ever smoke.
7. Missouri (Kansas City, St. Louis) Same thing as Tennessee except ozarks instead of mountains.
8. Mississippi (Gulfport/Biloxi): Cool Casinos, great food, coastal towns. Like Louisiana this is the only part of the state you could get me to live in.
9. South Carolina (Charleston/ Columbia) Really good weather, interesting history, and coastal.
10. Georgia (Atlanta): Never really enjoyed Atlanta all that much. I heard Savannah's pretty nice tho.
11. Alabama (Mobile/Birmingham): Hang out fest is dope, but that's the only redeeming quality of this abomination of a state.

Texas is objectively the best state to live in, and I do enjoy living here, but it just isn't home. I'd jump at a chance to move back to Louisiana.

ETA: Arkansas and Tennessee are high on my list because I love mountain scenery. Same with North Bama/Ga
