Surprised Bama vs Texas is not included.

I'm not necessarily saying this is wrong, but it's a bit hard to believe that the AVERAGE price of any cfb ticket was $5,100.

Would be interesting to see. The Forbes article only went back to 2010.

You can tickets for about 50% of face right now... Bama has to have some championship fatigue.....

Those numbers look super inflated. For LSU/Bama in NOLA in 2011, there were tons of tix for $700-$1000 per seat.

A little of that but I would say the Playoff has something to do with it too. Expensive to go to both games.

A lot of fans decided to go to Dallas instead because it was a lot cheaper. An extra game plays into it some. Face was $450 for the cheapest seats which is nuts.

There was a ticket issue that caused prices to skyrocket

It was at game time. Scalpers fricked everything up by overpromising supply, which had everyone going nuts trying to buy last minute. I sold two upperdeckers for $5k a week before the game.

All the OSU people are saying ticket prices would have been much more if they were in it. They are also under the assumption that they had the highest ever becuase they travel the best

Part of playing for the NC in the middle of January, a week and a half after the end of the holidays.
Stadium capacity should be included with the price.
As as stated, fatigue, plus playing in two bowls, plus the SECCG, and this game with two teams from Southeast playing in Glendale, AZ.
If the finals were in Dallas or NOLA, I suspect the prices to be much higher.

Tickets were oversold. Stubhub in particular could not fulfill the orders and started buying tickets back at 1.5x - 2xs the rate to fulfill for others
