Texas made 1.8M in alcohol sales

"I think being able to serve beer to them is part of that experience," Fenves said at the time.
Alcohol accounted for more than half of the $3.7 million in food and drinks sold at the stadium.

Times, they are a changing. Our money grubbing AD should be all over this

Was before and remain against this concept. From a liability and safety issue, it just isn't worth it. We tailgate plenty before and after. We have one of the best bar scenes in the country. With 80% of the stadium driving back out of town, the game time gives some time to sober up. Money is about the only reason we should have it. More $$$ isn't a good enough reason with all the negatives.

So should all of the NFL, NBA, MLB, and all of the concerts outide of your kid's shitty sixth grade concert you've been to stop selling beers because of the "negatives"?

Get drunk before the game. Use the game to sober up so you can drive home. What's wrong with that? I have attended too many NFL games with drunken jerks sloshing their beer everywhere to ever want this for UGA.

I think we all miss the part where Texas and other places likely have much better concourses and concession facilities with paid staff members to run them. Can't very well have the Boy Scouts and the little league team pouring beers all over the stadium, now can we?

Agree. It will be incredibly chaotic with students trying to buy beer and using fake IDs. There is plenty of time to drink before and after games and sneaking in a little booze isn't even a hassle if you really want to drink during the game.

On Reddit a WVU fan said they did the same as us, volunteers who earned part of the proceeds. Guys example was buying beer from the Girl Scout booth haha

I mean I'd actually pay the upcharge on the shitty beer if it were Mrs. Sunday School Teacher from Nearby Baptist Church having to serve me, just for the reaction

That was my first thought. As bad as our concessions are,
you'll be lucky to get 2 maybe 3 beers during the course of the game.

I make one trip per game and thats all I can handle.

Sneak it in. Never had an issue fitting a bottle between the gals or in the boots.

I actually think booze sales inside would have the opposite effect. People get shite hammered because they cant drink for 3-4 hours then sneak in hard liquor. Selling low ABV shitty beer would keep people drinking beer all day instead of bourbon.
The lines at the pisser would be unimaginable however.

Good way to make more money, and I agree it probably keeps people safer on balance. Let's be honest, now people just sneak in hard liquor. If they sell just beer, you have fewer people getting sloppy on hard liquor.

Concessions is still a clusterfrick though, so fix the vending process before we start selling anything else. Really need to have professionals doing this.

Why attack the guy because of how he feels? I've never seen you make one legitimate point on this board. All you ever do is attack people.

He didn't say that at all. He simply said he was against having alcohol sales at/during the game.

Personally....I am against because if I take my kid to a game I don't want some loud mouthed drunk to ruin it for him. (Not saying everybody drinking before the game becomes one...but there are enough of those at the games already. As for the extra money? Maybe. Actually....probably. But more security would definitely have to be hired. Why go to a game if you are not going to remember it afterwards?

Worst experience i ever had was sitting at a Braves game before the game started. A guy was bringing a flat of 4 beers in behind me and dumped them on me accidentally. Then I got to sit through the whole game in the hot sun.
