Mizzou football has been successful in the SEC due to our southern heritage

which does in fact go back further than the Civil War.
To people ignorant of history Missouri may seem foreign, but Missouri was fighting the Civil War long before cannons blasted Fort Sumter and Missouri fought and died to support the southern cause and to preserve our southern heritage along with the other southern states.
Missouri is good at football because we're southerners who love college football (and Cardinal baseball).

I find it interesting that Rebs from MO burnt down Lawrence starting Mizzou's oldest rival. Yet is still heavily considered yanks. Mizzou is a much better fit to the SEC then ever wasBig 12

Mizzou has been successful b/c Tennessee and Florida have been down, Kentucky and Vandy are average at best, and Richt losing control.
A&M, LSU, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Moo State would also have multiple SECE titles if they were substituted for Mizzou the last 4 years.
