I don't get that.

You don't have to. The good thing about Bama having 5 straight #1 ranked recruiting classes is anyone can make an argument for Bama beating anyone else, but not all other teams have an argument for beating Bama.

Plus #3 ranked Strength of Schedule. Wisconsin isn't ranked but their 2 losses are to us and Iowa, and you could argue they'd beat Iowa if Clement wasn't injured.

Florida has no worries. If they keep winning, they'll be in the CFP; if they don't, they won't.

Not so sure. If OM loses a few games, UF could legitimately end up with zero Top 25 wins prior to the SECCG.

That Bama vs Florida answer was hilarious.

"They played one more team with a .500 record!"

If any LSU fan questions Alabama's strength as a team, they are morons. Alabama is going to be Alabama.

That said, it was funny to watch Jeff Long stumble through his explanation of why Alabama was ahead of Florida despite both teams having 1 loss in the conference.

Give up 41 points to NC State.

Go to No. 1 in the polls.

What win does Bama have that's better than Florida? A&M? UF beat UT and UGA(granted a different UGA) and drilled the team Bama lost to.

So if LSU beats Alabama, will they go to #1? or will Alabama?

semi serious question.

Will it be right after a yearly loss to FSU this Saturday?

Clemson is 6-6 against FSU last 3 years. They won the last 3 years with a NFL QB. THey dont' have NFL QB this year.

so there isn't a 'yearly' lost to FSU, but you wouldn't know b/c you dont' know anything about ACC other than talking points somebody fed you and you recite.

some of you predict 'Clemsoning' before every game Clemson plays. Yet Clemson wins most of those.

What an original and thought-provoking response. No one has ever used the word "melt" before in that context. Well done.

I agree that we're ranked too high at this early stage, but it will almost certainly work itself out by the end of the season, so it's all good.

This is purely a mechanism to hype up the LSU-Bama game. Nothing more, nothing less. We see the same thing happen with preseason rankings and big matchups (one of the team usually ends up having a down season, even though it's a top-10 vs top-10 matchup).

It's smart -- it sorts itself out. Whichever team wins they go to #1 or #2. The losing team drops to somewhere around 10 provided it's not a crazy upset weekend in CFB.

Really? Did Hugh talk to the SEC office? Nope! Because just like the officials who reviewed the play, and the game announcers, and every rational viewer in the nation, he too could tell that the ball was not "illegal(ly) tipped forwards." But, hey, you still won your Super Bowl.
