Bama fans would be complaining that Fournette didn't get the ball enough. Same thing they did with Lacey, and Richardson, and Henry.

I guess you would have had to have experienced the uproar surrounding his commitment. Landon Collins isn't in the same hemisphere
I want on the rant back then, though might've occasionally lurked. But I remember it pretty well. Bama fans were very confident the entire time. With Fournette, we had hope, but were doubtful.

quote:Um, at the time LSU hated USC a whole hell of a lot. That whole split 2003 national championship bullshite. The media was up their arse and gave them the AP championship. I still believe LSU had the better team. Saban and that defense were nasty.
How so? Joe didn't go to a school LSU fans notoriously hate.

You kidding? USC might have been the most hated team in Baton Rouge for the couple of years post-2003.

They would still have Guice who is damn good

But wisely, he didn't dickwad!!!

Fournette would be lighting it up just like he is now if he went to Bama. Landon Collins, while an exceptional player, is not in the same class as Fournette when it comes to hype, expectations, and excitement from a fan base when he signed. Guice is real good, Les would be riding him and Williams and trying to figure out how the hell to stop Fournette next weekend. Sound familiar?

There would be a lot of pissed off people in Louisiana and that is saying it nicely.

I've actually heard a lot of people talk about this at tailgates and during games.
It would've been more sadness and envy than hatred. LF is a chill guy. He seems hard to dislike from the way other fans talk about him.
I think more daggers would be thrown at the coaching staff for not landing the biggest in-state recruit ever.

How would the level of hate and vitriol have compared to Landon Collins? More, less, the same?
Landon Collins was a cocky A-Hole that purposefully burnt bridges to Louisiana. That's why he was hated.
If LF would've gone to Bama and been the same humble, yet awesome LF, we wouldn't have really hated him, but the disappointment on missing out would've been on a much, much grander scale.

If if was a skiff then we'd all be adrift

Henry would be an afterthought. Just like he is for the game Saturday. It's all Buga, all the time right now.

Eh, LSU fans were not very fond of USC around that time. But, I agree, LSU fans have a greater hate for Bama. As others have said, Collins' snarky comments after committing to bama had more to do with it than anything else. If LF is nothing else, he is humble. I don't think you would see the same reaction. It would have been a huge loss though.

Much of the Collins hate stemmed from how he handled the process. Cam Robinson was a much bigger recruit and a greater need for LSU, but doesn't catch as much heat from LSU fans because he made it clear from the beginning that he was all Bama.

Not gonna lie, I'd be pretty triggered. I don't know if I'd dislike him though. He keeps out of the news as much as possible is just a genuine good person. It's hard to hate someone like that.
