she seems like a typical alabama fan, no perspective on life.

Why do you think most LSU fans hate Bama fans. I wish I could say this was an outlier, but I've seen stuff like this far too many times, unfortunately.

Sadly, some people (who are nothing but fans) take college football way too seriously in the grand scheme of things.

That said, if the kid is still alive (hopefully) and is in anyway able to attend the game (assuming he feels up to it) then I have no doubt that people from both LSU and Alabama will do everything possible to make sure the kid has what in all likelihood will be his last wish, granted. I suspect their are many affluent Alabama fans from Mountain Brook that would move heaven and earth to make sure the kid is happy one last time.

Never be surprised that there are stupid, heartless people in this world.

The tragic fact is that the world is full of them.

I'd like to think she is in the minority of Alabama fans.

I am waiting for the post from Tuscaloosa telling us all how much he admires this woman and wants her to autograph his infant child.

Yeah some people need to take a step back and realize football is not the most important thing in the world. Just because he's from Birmingham doesn't mean he has to be a Bama fan. Kid has a terminal illness and may not even make it to the game in two weeks. This lady needs a good slap to the face for putting bama/lsu football over his life. In the end, it's just a game.

In another thread, someone said he was fighting to live long enough to see LSU beat Alabama. If I could be guaranteed he'd live long enough to see LSU beat Alabama, I'd hope for a 70-year Bama win streak and Sid could watch us finally beat them with his grandchildren.

Good spot Scoop. That's fricked up for sure. Every extra day for this kid is a blessing.

"I hope a kid suffering from a horrible disease can't experience his last dying dream so that it helps my team win a football game that is inconsequential in the long run"

Exactly the attitude I would expect from a certain faction of Bama fans.

I was at a friends house last night and of course we are all Bama fans. They are wealthy and have a skybox in Tuscaloosa, so we are not talking trailer park fans. These people are all alumni from Alabama.

She said, and I paraphrase, have you heard about the kid that lives here that is dying of cancer that is an LSU fan? I responded by saying yes I read a lot about it this week and coach Miles told him to save him a place in heaven. I proceeded to talk about how tragic it was and could you imagine being a teenager and your only dream left is to see a damn football game.

She immediately said, "but Miles is talking about having him come to the game and talk to the team and that could be the motivation they need to beat us. I have heard is is not doing well and we need to hope he doesn't feel like actually coming to the game and speaking to the team. I hope he lives but I hope he watches from home."

I was speechless! How do you respond to that? And, people wonder what is wrong with this fricking world we live in.

One of two things:

1. Nothing has ever not happened more than this didn't happen.

2. You hang with garbage people. Keep in mind, that if this one is true, you're probably a garbage person.

Gump gonna gump....I am sure there are dumb LSU fans as well. Shouldn't take over your life. When football does and you are just a fan, your life must suck. More important things than football.

That's just the mentality of bama's fringe fan element, that all. You know, the 95% that makes the other 5% look bad.
