Wrong. It's been MORE brutal and that why the teams are cannibalizing themselves.

Yes it has, especially the West, and I'm not an SEC homer. Ridiculous amount of playmakers/Heisman contenders and the most NFL players in that stretch by a comfortable margin. FSU has been very good, but that is a ridiculous claim.

Bama should hire Jimbo Fisher when Saban retires. From the Saban coaching tree and has made FSU into a highly competitive program again. Multiple conference titles, one national title and one CFP appearance.
FSU >>>>>> Clempsun
Like Bowden did before, Fisher would make the smart decision and stay put. He had a great setup down there, and unlike Dabo, he's proven he can win big games and titles.

Go check NFL rosters if you don't believe, pale orange tiger fans. How many SEC teams are in the Top 10? Who has the most? That is irrefutable. The SEC is always a bloodbath. At least James Franklin had the decency to leave Vandy so we would have 1 doormat.

I agree.
Jimbo would be silly to leave.
Whereas Dabo would be crazy to pass up a chance to coach at his alma mater.

what team in SEC was better than FSU the past 3 years. FSU would have won SEC all 3 years the past 3
FSU would not have won the SEC in any of the past three years.
2012 - UF beat the piss out of them in Tally (after getting to play that soft ACC schedule). Bama and UGA would have beaten FSU by at least 20 points. LSU and aTm would have done the same to them. SoCar finished that year ranked #8, they would have beaten FSU as well.
2013 - FSU played at least 9 teams that Vandy would play even with, or defeat. You don't get 9 Vandy's in the SEC.
2014 - They were dependent on at least five opponents self-destructing. They weren't even a top 10 team, and would have finished in the middle of the SEC, perhaps lower.
Bobby Bowden has said it himself: FSU would not survive in the SEC.

Keep dreaming. If Saban didn't send Urbs to the ER last year, McElway sure ain't gonna be able to do it. Nice try though. Don't be scared. Urb is eyeing you gators up. He wants to finish the classless lizards off.

I honestly think at some point he and Smart will be HC at LSU and Bama at the same time. Not sure who will be where

You keep mentioning this lake that Dado lives on. I don't want us to hire Dabo, but you do know that Tuscaloosa has a nice lake as well, right?

You realize that Bobby Bowden wanted the Alabama job, right?
Bobby 'decided to stay' after the Bama administration fricked up and didn't offer him.

I didn't realize he chatted with Finebaum earlier this year about until I just now Googled it.
Interesting.
quote:
Alabama boosters approached Bowden about the job, and he agreed to meet with the school president but made it clear he wasn't going to interview for the job. He assumed an offer was only a formality, but when it came time to meet the president that feeling soon dissipated.
Bowden walked into the room and saw 17 people waiting for him. He realized it was an interview, not a job offer.
LINK
Sounds like the same situation with Spurrier at Florida where he allegedly told UF's president that he wasn't going to interview for the Florida job and they could just look in their trophy room if they wanted his resume.
Though, to be quite honest, Spurrier had a lot more right to say something like that than Bowden did in 1987. But, you are more or less correct that the Bama administration screwed up. He made it clear he wasn't going to interview but would definitely entertain a serious offer.
ETA: I'll be honest -- that's probably the first time I genuinely started to appreciate Spurrier's wit. He was 100% in the right. I corrected my post as it wasn't Foley that wanted Spurrier to go through an interview but rather UF's president. Who wouldn't want to tell your old boss that after you basically put them on the map?

The insecurity in you is strong and it should be. Bama? Hell, he'd leave Clemson for half the schools in the SEC. No less than Seven SEC jobs are more attractive than Clemson.

When you say 'classless', you know that's derivative of YOUR coach's time in Gainesville, right?
You also know that his health stuff was fake, right? That anxiety and so forth he claims is not something that resolves in a few months. Yet a few months after leaving UF he was negotiating with OSU. He still had an office at UF and was using it as a means to recruit against UF. He was using UF's recruiting board, reports, coaches, etc, knowing he was headed elsewhere. One of the classy things Muschamp did was take the high road when that topic came up. One day Muschamp or others will drop all this information during an interview.
Two things to look out for: the next Hernandez murder trial. From what I understand it will have information related to incidents in Florida involved. We all know Meyer turned a blind eye to very serious incidents with Harvin. There's a good possibility he did the same with Hernandez. Everyone knows the police in Gainesville do not, ever, look the other way with athletes. Shenanigans with Hernandez and Harvin will be pinned to Meyer and Meyer alone. Have fun with that.
The other: The dirty little secret in Gainesville is infidelity in the Meyer house. Forget the fake heart attack jokes, when that shoe drops, and it eventually will, you can have fun with that one as well.
You should be able to figure out one thing: the fan base that understands Cryin Meyer better than OSU is UF. You might want to take note of what we say. You might want to do some research on all the various things he said at UF and things his sycophant assistant coaches said, and how he maintains a certain inner circle to insulate him. He's a former baseball player that has a special acumen, at times, coaching football. Doesn't make sense that he's in football. At his core he's a coward and all talk, and lives a fake life that is exposed in pressure situations. It's not hard to see how things fit together with him. We were fooled. You could learn but you won't.
Bernie Machen was the President at Utah when Meyer was there. He came to UF and one year later Meyer was brought to UF. Machen said Meyer was good, but was too tight and wouldn't last a dozen years in big time, pressure packed football. Meyer lasted 6 years at UF, so not even half the time.
Meyer, in his whole career, has only flourished when in the underdog role. OSU isn't there and they've looked like a bag of hammered out arseholes so far this year. It'll be rare that OSU is the underdog in the Big10, since that conference is so weak. Not handling success and pressure is par for the course with ole Urbs.
He took the best roster in the history of CFB and underachieved back in 2009, at the most critical part of the season, and that team played down to its competition throughout most of the season. Kiffin was at UT at that time and he said so himself during 'anonymous' interviews of SEC coaches about Bama and UF before they played in the SECCG.
UF paid Meyer, and gave him an office when he quit. The fan base loved him. Hardly anyone was worried about the football program. Instead they were worried about Meyer. No one turned on him because he quit. People have soured on him because of all the information that came out afterwards, and coupled to his magical recovery, the pieces just came together. Some UF fans still love him. What they don't realize is that a) he doesn't have the character or the stones to deserve that affection, and b) the arrests and reputation many tag on UF now are from his tenure and things he claimed to stand far are now seen to be just hollow declarations. More importantly, that bad reputation is much tougher to shake than they realize. When you win titles, it doesn't take long before you "used to be good". But when your reputation is damaged you're "always classless".
What Meyer did at UF, and what he did to UF, and the lies he told, he'll do the same with regard to OSU.
A cruel irony awaits you Buckeye fans. But, you were pompous, elitist, condescending, holier than thou turds back in 06, and you still are. So, I don't expect you to listen. Nevertheless, you've been told.
