Or less.

I'm certain this crossroads in his career was a chance for him to get his head screwed back on right.

He'll be offered a HC job somewhere and he'd be foolish not to take it.

The only chance he stays if somehow his staying he thinks it increases his chances of getting the HC job here someday.

If a decent head coaching job gets offered to him, he'll go.

He'll stay if no good offers come (he'd turn down offers from really small programs too most likely).

I do not think so. Many have said the same thing about Kirby and it seems his name has popped up a few times. And I would think his non-colorful past would be more appealing than Lane. Also I think Lane may see what Kirby does and still make a top salary, probably more as a coordinator than a lot of other DI HC jobs) and less hassle.

It really is this simple.

If he gets a good offer, he will understandably take it. If not, he is in a place that guarantees he will be on short lists next year.

I can see him taking either the Maryland or UVA job once those positions open up.

But if he does stay, it's only for one more year.

141 and 2/3 % chance

Seriously though, this is one of those things that won't really bother me, even if Bama makes the playoffs for the 2nd time.

Don't get me wrong, he's brought a good offense and is good at recruiting, but he's not someone that's gonna make or break the consistency. Sucks for the QBs mainly, having to adjust to another system.

But with Tosh Lupoi being a major influence for CA recruiting and this offense having been successful before Kiffin, someone qualified could easily come in and build off what Kiffin has added. Like Kiffin, a lot of good coaches get the boot and take coordinator jobs to fix their image. As long as that person isn't Rick Neuheisel and his geetar...

100%. And they say I'm not the optimist. He's staying. If he were leaving he would have already done it.
