Possibly throws the East race up in the air if he's anywhere better than Mauk.

How about he play a game first? Also from what I've read, Mizzou WR's aren't very good either and they don't have a very strong rushing attack.

Short answer is no. Nobody is stepping in UGAs way this season, except for UGA.

He's the future and probably the best qb in history.

He gives us a better shot to win every Saturday and that one Thursday.

I don't think we have the pieces and chemistry to compete for the East title this year.

Probably not this year, but does give him valuable experience for 2016-17.

He's better than Mauk from the little bit I've seen. That said, a good evaluation will probably have to wait for a point where teams have been able to gameplan for him specifically under center.

No, the Kentucky loss finished them. They will lose to Georgia, Tennessee and Florida. The east is going to be a pileup at the top after this weekend.

Our Rushing game will be fine/pretty good once Russ is fully healed, and our WR have a lot of promise, but still just a little too young.

Lock is goat.

The unit that gives us a shot is our defense.

I think the East will come down to Florida and UGA.

Lock gives us a better shot at bowl game and possible 7-8 wins.

I think we are all content with that until next season.

Gives them a shot to lock up 6th place.

He makes us better. IMO there is no doubt about that. Strangely, guys always seem to have drop issues catching passes from Mauk. I think we'll see our WR hands improve dramatically with Lock throwing them catchable passes.

As for the East, the UK loss probably buried us and we still have a huge hole in the running game. If we were at full strength and had started Lock from day one, we'd have a chance but I don't see it at this point.

There are a lot of dumb Mizzou fans who say the WR's can't catch and that is completely inaccurate. Every WR will drop a pass or so....Maty Mauk is one of the most inaccurate passers in football and throws an ugly ball as well. Its hard for WR's to catch that. Mizzou has a lot of very young and talented WR's. Hansbrough is getting healthy...Lock is much better passer than Mauk. I expect Mizzou to finish strong...but I don't think we will win the East. Georgia looks pretty legit this year.

Good God,amazing how the back up QB is the most popular with mesage board knuckle draggers. (Im well aware how much these guys have been pining for em)

In short,no he does not give the fighting Pinkels a shot at the East.

Mizzou could bring back Chase Daniel and he wouldn't give them a shot at the East.

Unlikely. I know MIzzou fans are hot & bothered about Lock & his potential, however I doubt a first time starter is going to roll into WB and not get rattled.

He has potential, but so did Jeremy Johnson...

Knowing how some teams choke later in the season, anything is possible. How do you think we got to Atlanta last year?

We have the right QB leading the offense now. Should be able to sustain drives and even might score some points for a change. This will help keep the defense off the field for most of the game and give them something to play for besides thinking the game is all on their shoulders.

Lock is not your usual backup QB. I am fully confident he would have unseated Mauk next spring anyways. But we'll see this weekend right?
