I really hate saying it, but it reminded me of the Tuberville years when we'd get up by a lot and then let the other team come back. We looked like a championship team in the first half though - playing good defense, eating up clock and most importantly capitalizing on mistakes. I'm not sure what team came out in the second half but it was obvious Louisville and Petrino made all the right adjustments and we couldn't quite keep up. I'm glad we have a win and we have a good tune up game next week, but there's a lot that needs to be fixed.

Adjustments...something Gus knows nothing about.

This reminded me of the Utah State win.
Let's hope what follows isn't... what followed.
I'm drunk so maybe I'm just thinking nonsense

Matt Hayes hates Auburn.
Ouch

Jeremy Johnson threw some interceptions and the defense was desperately hanging on late in the game. What exactly has changed at Auburn from 2014?
quote:
For all the hype of Johnson and new defensive coordinator Will Muschamp, the one thing that stood out from Auburn’s 31-24 season-opening victory over Louisville was Lamar Jackson. That would be Louisville’s freshman quarterback. Other than that, it was business as usual at Auburn. Big plays on offense, big mistakes on defense and the Tigers hoping something good happens when it matters most. This time it was an incomprehensible timeout by Louisville coach Bobby Petrino that allowed Auburn to eventually run out the clock instead of giving the Cardinals — and the thrill-a-minute Jackson — the ball again.
quote:
Look at the bright side, everyone: it took Newton three games in 2010 before he felt comfortable in Malzahn’s system, and the Tigers were average on defense all season — and still won a national title. All it took was a once-in-a-generation player to make it all work.
Ouch

Matt can have a lick on my salty ball sac and stfu.
It was a good win and what we needed to get our attention for baton rouge.

Look I'm as pissed as anyone or even more about the JJ poor decisionfest....but that frick knuckle you quoted is a no talent arse slurper who constantly cyber-felates and self-congratulates any chance he can. Let's take the last few hours alone for instance...
Please never forget that the majority of today's 'journalists' are nothng more than glorified activists and bloggers. Nothing more, nothing less.

Perhaps I should have included that I was kidding.

Cox had a similar game in 2005 versus GT.
He got better.
Gus needs to learn how to finish when we are up 21. UGA in 2013 was on my mind late in the game yesterday.
We are in good shape at RB. I thought the defense was improved. Lawson is a BOSS HOSS.
1-0

Did Louisville possess the ball in the 2nd half with a chance to tie or win?
It wasn't as bad as many on here think...last year we were going to the championship because we pasted a .500 arkie squad. Week 3 is where we find out if we are a contender or a pretender.

Main two things for me are that Jeremy is forcing it. He has to let the game come to him. The next is that Lawson is really good. The defense was completely different without him. It also really hurt when Tray went out.

Worst win ever?
Please. Where were you during the 3-2 win vs miss state a few years ago? Wholly frick.

We were literally one tripped up lineman away from being up 31-3... some of you guys need to chill the frick out. Lamar Jackson gave them a spark and was something we obviously weren't prepared for... his running ability neutralized our pass rush.
We need to get our guys healthy for Baton Rouge and let the offense work out the kinks... we'll be fine.

Imo our defense was different more because of Lamar Jackson coming in than Carl Lawson going out... but neither were good.
If bonafon stays in, regardless of CLs injury, we likely cruise

Why did Bonnafon come out? He wasn't doing that bad at all. Yall think Petrino saw something in our defense? Petrino makes all the backups turn into Captain America against us evidently.

Think some are forgetting just how good of a game day coach petrino can be. His timeout was derp but the play calls gave us fits.
You serious Clark? His play calling didn't do shite. Unless by play calling you mean putting in a fast QB and saying hey just run around and make 7-8 guys miss on every play? They were getting shut out while he was still calling plays.

Nope. They would have had about 50 seconds if it wasn't for petrino being a dumbass.
Surprisingly, and this is coming from someone who didn't even feel comfortable in the 2013 SECG until there was 2 minutes left and we were already up by like 20, but I never felt that worried during the game.
I don't know why. There was a part of me that wanted to be nervous, I even looked at my buddy during the Georgia game in 2013 when we were up 24 or whatever and remember saying to him, "this is far from over" and it pissed him off I was being negative, but this game never gave me that vibe
Maybe that's a good sign. Maybe I'm just getting older and don't care as much

Petrino is an offensive genius. If he knew he had a runner like that and saw how hard we were crashing down I'm sure he saw the opportunity.

Petrino said he got "tired"
Our theory here is that Petrino pulled him for not even attempting to chase down Justin Garrett on the fumble recovery.

lol, my mom looked at me when garrett ran the ball back and she was like, "did anyone even try to catch him. he basically walked the last 25 yards"

I felt much the same leaving the Dome yesterday as I did after beating Clemson in OT in 2010. Hopefully the rest of the season follows the same path as that one.
