Alabama hasn't had a conference leader in sacks since Wallace Gilberry in 2007
When did I say anything about LEADING? Usually when your front 7 is DOMINANT, you have more than 1 player in the 30(top 30 in the sec) in sacks.

It'll be Bama's best defense of the Saban era other than 2011 if it lives up to the hype. I'd say it can surpass 2011, but it's hard to predict something like that.
lol

I'm just sharing my opinion; I'm not sharing his same view.
I don't understand. Reed and A'Shawn are both highly touted because of their impact they've had in the past at UA. A'Shawn had a good year at NG last year up the middle and led the '13 team in sacks. He's highly regarded because of his production. Jarren Reed was very solid last year and the front 7 would not receive the same hype it is if it wasn't for him returning for his senior year. His game vs LSU last year was awesome.

They can be touted as the next JJ Watt and Reggie White but if they continue to NOT PRODUCE, it doesn't matter.

His game of 2 solo tackles and 1 tfl and 0 sacks? I think I'm starting to realize what bama fans think is dominant

Our DL dropped weight, got quicker with the new SC program that was started. They will be a tough bunch to stop. Ryan Anderson, Pettway are just fine off the edge. The secondary is much improved especially with the coaching switch Mel Tucker.
I watched the scrimmage sat, the secondary is WAY better to the tune of 9 picks or so. I'm sure that will lead to saying our offense sucks. But hey the Barn Defense didn't let their Offense do anything amirite?

Probably the fact that Saban and Smart have produced a national top five defense 6 times since 2007. Led the SEC in defense from 2008-2013. Finished 12th in the country last year and 3rd in the conference and bring back most all of that defense.
And why do people continue to make these arguments about sacks? I'm not even sure Alabama has finished in the top three in the conference in sacks at all since 2007. It sure as hell hasn't hindered the defense.

Sacks are the only thing that matters apparently, one player who is awesome on a team of average players. Sound familiar any teams out there lol. I'll take less sacks and more NC/ SEC C.

Your secondary is trash and your DL is overrated. Your D will be lucky to finish top 10 with that offense. Enjoy the Outback bowl.

D'Shawn Hand ever gonna play or did he get processed?
Posted on 8/21/15 at 7:47 am to TJGator1215
Folks, let's just wait a couple of weeks to get the first feel for the Alabama defense before going down these types of discussions.
Posted on 8/21/15 at 7:49 am to TJGator1215
He should play this year. It's not his lack of talent keeping him off the field, it's older more experienced/talented guys in front of him.
Posted on 8/21/15 at 7:50 am to TJGator1215
Lol. And no, Hand is running with the 2s and will be a starter in 2016.

I dont know how auburn scored 40 but OSU was able to get some push on that DL and able to get to the second level often. Secondary problems aside the front 7 didn't stop the run in the Sugar
Another year of development in the system should help but no one in Bama front 7 "scares" me today

Geno Smith going to miss any time or are two DUIs not worthy of missing actual gametime?

You can and the Army used to:
