I was listening to 104.5 ESPN Baton Rogue. There is a guy that wrote about bio about Saban . There were mixed emotions about Saban from LSU fans. What is your thought on Saban. Some players hated playing for Saban. One player said, Saban did make him a better player but thats about it. He said its not worth it to play for Saban. I dont dislike Saban or Alabama football. I dislike Alabama fans and their bandwagon fans. What does LSU fans say about Saban?

I like and still respect him. He was one of the major factors in putting LSU football back on the map. Just wish he wasn't coaching one of division rivals

Thankful for what he did for LSU. Wish he could have made it in the pros. Wish he was elsewhere, but oh well.

Don't dislike at all. He was exactly what LSU needed at that time period. I have a want for LSU to beat Alabama, not Saban.

There are more than a few players who expressed dislike for Saban. He was kind of a dick.

I bet he's calmed down a bit since then.

Tigerdroppings would not exist (at least not in its current glory) without Nick Saban.

This is a troll and flame board and a lot of the posters are under 30, so you have to keep those points in mind when LSU fans post stuff about him on this board.

But, for those of us that don't post here all the time and are over 30, we have a different view of him.

As a coach, I have great respect for the man. He was exactly what LSU needed when Mark Emmert hired him. He was given total control of the Football program, which wasn't done in the 90's for any coach. He had a master plan to make LSU elite and he did it. For that, much love.

However, where the hate comes in, is because for 2 years, starting in 2003, while we were on our way to our first National Title since 58, Saban was constantly flirting with the NFL. That didn't sit well with a lot of fans, because all he talked about was total and complete focus and loyalty from the players and fans, but he was constantly flirting with going to the NFL.

Then, after saying point blank that he wasn't going to Miami, he left on Christmas Day, which left LSU in a difficult situation in hiring his replacement since most coaches leave at the end of November and not the end of December.

However, all could have been washed under the bridge, but after failing to recognize that Drew Brees was a much better choice than Dante Culpepper and failing in Miami, he decides to go to freaking Alabama.

We all knew he would do great at Alabama and he did. Of course, we are going to have some major dislike for a coach that use to be ours, build and sustain Alabama into a major powerhouse again. It's only natural human emotion.

I respect the man for his coaching ability and for establishing the platform for the success of LSU [Along with Skip Bertman].

As of late, he's been unbearable during the offseason. I've never seen a coach go to such great lengths to change CFB for his own benefit.

It pisses me off that he's beaten LSU four times in a row now but I'm forever grateful for what he did for our school.

I'd buy him a beer.

You is dumb. I don't get how a MSU fan lives in Baton Rouge. Either you is from Baton Rouge and you go to LSU or you is from Baton Rouge and you go to Ole Miss. You is trying ta tell me that you is a MSU fan but you choosed to live in Baton Rouge or that you is from Baton Rouge and you choosed to go to MSU?

I'm not a smart man, but sumtin ain't right here.

Like a lot of the others said, I'm glad he was our coach. His contribution to the LSU football program was enormous, and it wouldn't be what it is today without him. There were a ton of great memories on the field during his time in BR. Sucks that he is coaching at Bama. The bitter feelings wouldn't be there if he were coaching in another conference.

Without Saban they'd have a longer title drought than Ole Miss. The ones that don't appreciate Saban for what he did for that program probably started watching college football in 2000.

Have no issue with him. He didn't go to bama from lsu. He knows he shouldn't have left lsu for the NFL. Having said that he did change as a person during this time. He was always a serious tough SOB but he became much more irritable. Prolly has to do with the fact he has to deal with Gumps now.

SOB sure can coach. I still root for him. I like bama players too. Just hate your stupid ugly fans
