Like I said before, I'm still floored that the boyfriend was able to walk away from this. As well as able to make a clear phone call to 911.

I'm curious if the guy the AG is counting as a witness of the announcement is the same dude that was in the NYT piece on this situation. The other folks interviewed in that piece said that they did not hear the police at that time.

The larger issue, that likely won't end up getting addressed, is this has been a common issue with LMPD. They're a walking lawsuit on a regular basis. The city is hemorrhaging from their lawsuits. I dread what the Explorer lawsuit is going to cost us.
This is a great opportunity to have a good house cleaning and to really sit down and re-evaluate how they operate. But that won't happen because of the FOP.

LPMD served a warrant on an apartment that was poorly surveilled (Someone in their report put that BT's apt had bars on the window, cameras, and locks on the door). I think it was a poorly executed narcotics raid and that a number of the individuals involved shouldn't have been on the police force in the first place.
If anything, I'm shocked that the boyfriend (and was able to make a clear 911 call) is still alive after the number of shots fired into that apartment unit.

No body cameras because the narcotics unit went to the LMPD police chief and specifically said they didn't want it.

Which is one of the issues with no knock warrants in a stand your ground state.
AGs and DAs are just as complicit as the cops. Those people are more concerned with conviction rates, their next job and appeasing the people they work with daily in the PD than actually doing what is right.

I mean the SEA/NEP game is in question at the moment because of air quality. The Mariners/Giants game was moved because of air quality. It isn't that far fetched of a situation.
