Now imagine if it was Cooper, Henry, Yeldon, White, and Jones injured for Bama last year.

are you comparing the 3rd string RB to the 1 spot WR?

I guess it just depends on your definition of an excuse. I think excuses are things people do to try and diminish their loss. I'm probably wrong on the definition though.
I really just meant to say that using suspensions as a reason you lost is dumb, because it's only your own fault.

Depends.
If a team loses a player who contributes to a team as much as say Manziel and Dak, yes.

Another excuse will fall into it's place if it's not injuries. That's the way of the loser. Injuries, refs, young team, etc.
Did Patrick Peterson have an int vs bama in 2009?

Exactly. Not all injuries are to the same caliber of player.

Depends. Last year, AUs two best linemen, and best WR were out for the UGa game. But they won't acknowledge that. They will bring their injuries up for their L's, tho.

I'll acknowledge it. I just don't think it matters when you lose 34-7.
Eta: do you think Lambert is better than Adams?

No, they are part of the game and will even out in the long run.
Hell, they can even be good, think of Tom Brady vs. Drew Bledsoe.

Off season threads are golden for comedy. Of course any contributing member of a team is missed for whatever reason the guy cannot play. Depending on the depth at the position and the length of the said player being absent, and where a team is in their schedule all have a bearing on the performance drop that may occur. Some excuses have validity, some do not and some could be reasonably argued one way or the other.
The bottom line is we never know what would have happened and excuses don't change results.

Of course it's debatable if they were your top 2 ol or not, but it sure was nice that that stud wr was out with them. It certainly didn't help your offense.

Sure. Especially at QB or OL positions.
