Definitely Michigan vs. Ohio State. Alabama and Auburn has been more relevant in recent years with both schools success and epic games like "Kick 6" and "Camback", but "The Game" is bigger on a national scale.

no probably not, but it's something...

I doubt ASU is a perfect representation of the West coast's love of football, but they were a damn joke. And if I asked them what the best rivalries were, they'd probably say games involving USC ND Michigan and OSU. They are certainly entitled to their opinion, but their opinions of college football were and are complete shite.
It's the truth though. You knew of OSU/UM in California back in 2000. The iron bowl? Eh, not really. I always just assumed tennessee was alabamas rivalry game

If anybody would be an expert on shite that doesn't matter, it would be a fig that grew up in Los Angeles rooting for UCLA football and then decided to attend college in the state of Texas and picked the gay cult of A&M

I didn't even know it was a thing until the cam newton game

The Auburn vs Alabama game in 2014 had fewer viewers too.
What's interesting is that it was broadcasted on ESPN and was still the most watched regular season game of the year. It also shattered the previous record for a regular season game on ESPN by over 3 million viewers. No telling what the number would've been had it been on a network

How well did Beanie do in the Champ. game against LSU?
20 carries for 146 yards and 1 td. He wasn't the issue in that game.

Right now, the Iron Bowl means more. All I'll say on the matter.

I agree. I'm young and the Iron Bowl being amazing is just about all I know.

Yes, it's been the more important game lately. That alone doesn't make it a bigger rivalry. Honestly, we're splitting hairs here. I fricking hate Michigan and what I hate even more is Michigan fans who grew up in Ohio.

He had 1 carry for 80 yds and a Td to start the game. Then he went 19 carries for 60 yrds after. He couldn't do shite

By a small margin in TV viewership terms.
Alabama 13.53M
Notre Dame vs Florida State 13.25M

Notre Dame/FSU was a top 5 match-up of undefeateds on ABC and the IB (on ESPN) still had more viewers. That's pretty nuts and amazing considering that no one outside the SEC cares about the game. Must be a lot of TVs in the SEC.

quote:I have a slightly funny story about sneaking into the ND FSU game last year. That game was amazing, a matchup between top 5 teams, with no other big games on or other rivalry games to compete with, and the Iron Bowl still beat it.
