The double-oaked version is also tasty, if you can find it.

Someone (Belle?) earlier in the thread mentioned Basil Hayden and I can't believe I left that off my list. Not only is the mass-marketed version very good, but I had the opportunity to taste some specially-aged 26 (?) year Basil Hayden that an old law school classmate of mine ended up with. It was outstanding.

Wild Turkey 101. I bought a pint of I believe was called special breed and toasted to it in front of national television at Rose Bowl/2014 BCSNC. I could drink that stuff straight it was so smooth.

Best I've ever had were George T. Stagg and the Van Winkle 12 YO Lot "B". Of course, I'm generally more partial to rye than bourbon...

I personally like the bold flavor/heat that comes with a higher alcohol content. My current favorites are:

Booker's
Pappy 15 Year
Old Granddad 114
Weller Antique
EH Taylor Barrel Proof
Willett Family Reserve (haven't tried a single bottle 6 years or older that I didn't like)

As the summer heats up, I will move what is left of these bottles to the back of the cabinet in exchange for easier sippers like

Buffalo Trace
Weller 12
Woodford Reserve

Free is my favorite. Aside from that I have some bottled before most of you were born that is no longer produced.

I only drink bourbon on the weekends and I rotate a bunch of 'em.

Tonight (Friday) it's Bulleit Frontier Whiskey.
Tomorrow I'll go with W.L. Weller Special Reserve (a very nice wheated bourbon)
Sunday night will be good ole Old Crow Reserve.

I've got about 34 or so different bourbons in my cabinet that I rotate each weekend.

A guy just bought our house and admired my liquor shelf and told me he started mixing bourbons (Elmer t lee and Weller antique was his favorite) and let it sit for 3-4 weeks then drink it... I had never heard of that before
