Which SEC school is most like your school and why?

UF and aTm are the closest IMO.
1) Great academics - two best public universities in the conference
2) Great athletics - UF has won the all-sports trophy 25 times and aTm finished 2nd by a slim margin
3) both great college towns
4) top tier women everywhere at both campuses
5) both schools are accepting of the the gay community
6) great weather in both places - best in the SEC
7) two best states in the union
8) two largest endowments of the SEC public schools
It's like aTm is our brother from another mother.
Which school is most like yours in your opinion?

I don't think anyone has ever referred to College Station and Gainesville "great college towns."

Yall accept the gay community.....roundabout way to say take it in the arse

Easily the two most well rounded schools in tSEC

I'll also add this. LSU has ducked us both. They've been trying to get away from UF for years. They actually broke their contract in the 90s to stop starting the year with an auto 0-1.

I think there's only one SEC

This thread is not going to go like you hope it will...

I think state and carolina are similar....
Both aren't historical football schools but their current coach has them competing
Both have had previous success in baseball but this year sucked
this year, women's basketball was probably their best sport

Getting back on message, Vandy's SEC look-alike is obviously Sewanee (once an SEC school, always an SEC school). Academically, culturally, aesthetically, and unfortunately athletically similar, although Vandy can be good at times. And if the liberal element was ever tossed from the University, Vandy could be competitive in all sports.

Thank you, roadGator, but I have to disagree.
With the exception of having good academics, solvency, a well-rounded AD, and teeth, LSU is more like A&M.

I've been to both cities and both campus numerous times for work. I can honestly say they are nothing alike.

Right now, Alabama and South Carolina. Both pretty good in football, suck in basketball, have legendary Head Coaches, an in-State rival named Tigers that are their little sisters.

I'll answer this honestly even if this was supposed to be a flame...
I think A&M is the most similar school to LSU.
1. Passion/tradition of fanbase. I never thought I would see it rivaled by LSU but A&M seems to have it...both the idiots, and the mature fans come together.
2. Great athletics
3. Both truly Southern schools as well as manerisms.
JMHO
I think if LSU were not to have existed and I knew then what I know now, I would have chosen to be an A&M fan.

An award given while several important sports are still in progress.
Just call it the track award and be done with it.

Who are you, and what have you done with the real road? Real road would be posting "fishing" pictures.
I guess LSU is closest to South Carolina.
1. Football is king, but baseball is a close second
2. Both states have a ton of palmettos
3. shite that's all I got. I don't know a whole lot about USC.
4.

Possibly Texas A&M.
- A&M and LSU still are the two schools that have produced the most generals and officers in all the American conflicts, with the exception of the service academies.
- LSU is also an A&M college and has a big military presence and heritage to this day.
- LSU and A&M are two of the best research institutions in the South if not the country. The Pennington Biomedical Research facility is huge.
- LSU is on a Top 30 Quality Thrust (ForeverLSU) that will continue. (They will get the budget mess straightened out.)
- In addition to Agribusiness and other similar curricula, both have excellent engineering schools, most notabaly Petroleum, Chemical, Civil, and Coastal Erosion; eseceially Petroluem.
Although, LSU also has an innovative and unique curriculum in "Hurricane" Engineering.
- Regarding Researsch again, both schools have worked and continue to work collaboratively on numerous studies and projects. Both schools vie for students in their specialties.
- Is home to the two largest football stadiums in the SEC and in the Top 5 in the nation.
LSU also shares some traits and similarities with Auburn as far as Engineering excellence.
