is this a serious question?
Kevin Faulk, Billy Cannon, Dalton Hilliard, Charles Alexander, Jeremy Hill.
Kevin Faulk is 3rd all-time in rushing yards. LSU has two more players in the top 7 all-time. Surely you aren't this oblivious

No sure where you're seeing LSU fans claiming LF is the better back, but it clearly isn't tRant.
Nice try though.

I'll throw some stats out as well.
As stated through this thread that the passing offense can be used as a crutch on both sides of the argument so my stats will also include the passing defense of the teams played by both clubs. This can be used to illustrate that if a team has a better passing defense then they can allow for more defenders to play the run especially when playing a anemic passing game such as LSU had last year.
Georgia (Chubb)
Defense against the run avg ranking 55.5
Defense against the pass avg ranking 76
LSU (Fournette)
Defense against the run avg ranking 53
Defense against the pass avg ranking 55
The run defenses are almost identical but the gap in passing defense played against leads me to believe that those defenses could assign more to stopping the running game.
Just like any statistical data you want to pull, none of it will be definitive on who was better because they did not play the same teams, in the same atmosphere in the same conditions.
Did Chubb have a better season than Fournette.....yes
Is Chubb a better back than Fournette.....don't know....YET.
Same as watching rookies in the NFL. Some who are drafted lower, play better than those drafted higher because of the overall condition of the team they are drafted to. Last year LSU was abysmal on offense and took to long to find their defense....could be why Fournette had lower numbers.

On that basis alone, one could argue that Fournette had a better season.
That's not enough of a basis to argue that point. That's asinine.

I haven't spoken to a single Tiger fan who thinks that Chubb wasn't better last season. That being said, Chubb's most productive game came against a very porous UL defense; aTm bad even. His best game to me was the Ark game against a solid SEC Defense.
Fournette had a good game against the OM defense which was a better defense than anyone Chubb ran against.
I think they're clearly the two best backs in the league going in, and barring injuries, both should have big seasons.

I'd say
1. Chubb
2a. Fournette
2b. Derrick Henry
2c. Kenyan Drake

Chubb actually had a passing game. UGA'S qb wasnt great but he led the sec in completion % and Georgia was top 30 in yards per pass attempt. Lsu's qb was 14th in completion % and put of the top 50 in yards per attempt. Lsu was almost dead last in pass completion per game.
With all that said,at this point you have to put Chubb ahead of LF.

If you want to make a point, why not use the UF games for each player?
Lets use all four games vs common opponents...
LF vs UF...27 for 140... 5.2ypc & 2 td's... 0 rec's...
Chubb vs UF... 21 for 156...7.4ypc & 1 td...5 rec's... 59yds & 1 td...
LF vs AU... 10 for 42yds...4.2ypc & 0 td's...0 rec's
Chubb vs AU... 19 for 144... 2 td's...7.6ypc...2 rec's for 48yds...
LF vs UK...15 for 40yds...2.7ypc... 1 td's ... 0 rec's
Chubb vs UK...13 for 170yds...1 td...13.1...0 rec's
LF vs Ark... 5 for 9 yds...1.8ypc 0 td's.. 0 rec's
Chubb vs Ark...30 for 202yds...6.7 ypc...2 td's...1 rec for 8 yds
So... vs 4 common opponents...
LF... 57 for 231yds... 3 td's... 4.1ypc... 0 rec's no TD's....
Chubb...83 for 672yds...6 td's... 8.1ypc...8 rec's for 115yds & 1 td...

Henry had better stats than LF7 last year, and Drake is really fricking good.

What's funny is you completely missed my point. I wasn't trying to argue that LF is better than Chubb. In fact, I've argued the opposite.
I never once said LF was better than Chubb in any category, so while all of that was informative, it was unnecessary in response to my post.

Come on. There isnt a running back in all of cfb that is better than LF by a large margin
