Jeff Rutledge, who played for Bear Bryant, was the last Alabama QB to start and win an NFL game and it was in 1987. Jeff QB Stats

Brodie Croyle started 10 career games but did not win any of them.

While the lack of NFL success at the QB position, Alabama still thrives on all other draft positions. I just thought this was an interesting fact

It's really mind blowing. For whatever reason, Alabama has not recruited or developed QBs.

How does it feel to know we've been kicking the SEC's collective arse with sub-par to barely serviceable quarterbacks?

Gary Hollingsworth, Jay Barker, Anderew Zow/Tyler Watts, Greg McElroy, AJ McCarron, and Blake Sims have all won SEC Championships since then. 4 of those won National Championships.

Add John Parker Wilson and Freddie Kitchens who won SEC West titles and lost to eventual national champions Florida in the SECCG.

In that period of time, Alabama has won 4 National Titles. More than Auburn has in their entire existence.

It's not that surprising. We were never much of a passing team until Saban got here. AJ may have a chance to break the drought.

It is an interesting fact OP. It's been a long time since Alabama had an elite talent at QB. Have definitely had some good college QBs since then and you would think the odds are that at least one of them would have stumbled into an NFL win or two as a starter.

Our little program has some potential if we ever land a great QB though.

It is hard to be one of the 32 best QBs in the world.

Good QBs have long careers.

Alabama QBs may not have produced in NFL lately, but
Most schools do not have multiple Super Bowl winning QBs.

Alabama had Starr, Namath and Stabler- IMPRESSIVE.
Name a school with more than 3 Super Bowl winning QBs.

The law firm of Pennington, Watts & Guillon is shocked at this news.

None although Purdue ties Bama for Super Bowl winning QBs (Dawson, Griese and Brees)/. Purdue is THE QBU in the NFL despite being a bottom rung college program

And yet they've had unparalelled success in this conference and much of college football since 1987.
