From this Ole Miss fans' perspective, all signs point to no. There is more talent assembled on this years roster than any previous team in my lifetime and possibly in the history of the program. With that said, the general consensus is that the boys in red and blue are staring down a likely 8-4/9-3 campaign.

Hugh Freeze is an elementary play caller who will single-handedly prohibit this team from reaching full potential. His scheme is that of a Texas high school spread offense. I guess I should appreciate the recruiting relevancy and the consistency he's brought to the program, but he's sort of a clown. Houston Nutt-ish. The "awe shucks" preacher gimmick has grown stale and I think he pulls a lot of slimy moves behind the scenes. Not to mention he's proven to be a legitimately dumb guy acting like an 8th grade girl on twitter.

So what says the Rant? Will Bro. Freeze ever take the Rebels to Atlanta or any other unprecedented heights? I just don't see it happening

He's beaten State 2/3 years. That seems to be something in most of y'all's eyes.

If he sticks around past Saban days Ole Miss could get lucky and have all of the stars align to a special season....may not get more than an SEC title though.

History isn't on Ole Miss side. Nor is Miss. State.

No

And before SwayzeBalls and Tornado Alley show up to say 34-3, and before I retort with 44-20-1 and fat, poor, racist, and stupid, I wanna say that I believe Freezus is a phoney and those top 5 recruiting classes are done, it's over.

You're Ole Miss. You haven't had any coach win anything significant since your team was still lilly white

significant

Depends on your definition. I think that while he had one really great recruiting year, the rest have been good but not great classes. If you want to win championships, you need the depth. Look at what happened after Tunsil and Treadwell got hurt towards the end of the year last year.

If you guys can't make some noise this year, I don't see him winning anything significant within the next few years at least. Would he still be around with 3-4 more seasons of 8-9 wins? Is that OK in the eyes of the fans of Ole Miss?

The reality is that HF is a good coach who is coaching at a traditional doormat of the SEC West. He has been impressive in turning Ole Miss into a team that can be talked about in the SEC W title picture. It's possible, but unlikely that he will win any hardware there simply because he is coaching in an era in which the west has become the strongest division year-in and year-out in college football history.

He beat Bama last year. I mean the crowd rushed the field so that has to be significant, right?

Would a "Mr. Ed Lookalike Contest" be considered significant?

Don't know...the Ole Miss defense is great, but it seems like Freeze has not been able to put together a complete offense yet. Which is odd...because Freeze was/is supposed to be an offensive guru.

If one of the QB's pans out this season, I don't see why they could not challenge for the West.

If he gets rid of Matt Luke and hires a good OL coach, yes.

Ole Miss hasn't done anything significant in damn near half a decade.

Talk about unpleasable fans, good lord..
