First I will say this is not a slam on any individual team. The Big 12 does have some good teams. Now on to the facts.

The Big 12 was last again for the number of players drafted among the "Power 5" confernces. I can't even find the last time they had at least 30 players drafted total.

They have put out less than half the number of players drafted than the SEC for several years now.

Pair the lack of talent coming out of the Big 12 with no representation in the first College Football playoff, no conference championship game and no one playing in a BCS Championship game since 2009.

I have no love lost toward the Big 12 but it is kinda sad to see what was once a great football conference become a shell of it's former self. I guess they have no one to blame but themselves.

Missouri fans sure like to dog the Big 12 wouldn't they sucked in the Big 12.

The Big 12 will eventually implode or become a weak conference since Oklahoma will eventually move to a new conference and Texas could go to the Pac 12 or go independent.

If no then that means that Ole Miss got the brakes beat off them by a non Power conference team.

I'll allow it.

Depending on which two teams the B1G eventually takes away from the Big 12 or ACC, we could see a merger of the Big 12 and ACC and some schools could be left out like Kansas, Iowa State, etc, while Texas goes to the Pac 12 and Oklahoma State goes to the ACC or Pac 12 (if the B1G gets Oklahoma).

OU and Texas are all the Big12 has. Given that Texas went into the toilet a few years ago that leaves only OU carrying the water.

OU is sporadic as hell though, seem to be elite, only to fall off immediately, only to look elite again, up and down as hell.

TCU looks to be the best team in the conference now,

Baylor are frauds. Every time they get a legit opponent they lose.

Texass ruined the SWC and destroyed the big 12 with it's greed and lies.

It's a shame and I almost feel bad for those left behind

Who gives a frick about the Big XII. All I am seeing is all these damn threads started by Missouri and A&M fans about the Big XII. If you're that fricking obsessed with what goes on then GTFO. This is the SEC!!!!

You wonder why you frickers don't get any respect? Quit fricking talking about the Big XII this and Big XII that and maybe just maybe we might take you seriously.

It's an honest question. Take Texas and OU out, and you basically have the old Big East. A bunch of random schools that occasionally have great years but can't be depended on to consistently produce talent or victories. The fact that neither Texas nor OU is dominating that league should be a complete embarrassment to anyone associated with either school. They are the only two schools with nationally respectable tradition, facilities, fan bases, or recruiting prowess. How can fans of those two schools sit back and watch TCU and Baylor dominate them?

Yes, unfortunately. They still have proximity to the great state of Texas.

Never was. It was an artificial creation attempting to piece together the remnants of the old SWC with the Big 8 after one particular school drove the SWC into imploding upon itself and dissolving. Even with its recent changes in membership, it's still a very awkward patchwork of a group that lacks any semblance of continuity and cohesiveness.

I feel no sads at all for the XII.

When one team treats their conference mates like they're the Washington Generals they deserve what comes to them.

Advice. Move on, or move back. No one here even knows that's a conference.

Poor aggies and the rest of the forgotten misfits, like Arkansas.

Aggy bitches to high heaven about TEXAS keeping all of its third-tier profits, yet Nebraska plays up to five games on PPV (as in 2008), keeps all the profit (as they were the home team), and none of the money (which the article stated was MORE than what they would've gotten if aired on a regular medium) is shared with their conference mates.

Total, complete, utter silence.
Then, TEXAS comes along and proposes going in with A&M on a network. Aggy declines, saying it won't work, it will NEVER happen.

TEXAS goes on to sign 20-year, $300 million deal with ESPN, totally catching Aggy administrators with their pants down.

Aggy bitching and moaning about "not sharing third-tier profits" ensues.

Aggy leaves to suckle at the teat of others.

Which brings me to Arkansas...

Arkansas suckled at the teat of the state of Texas for decades in the SWC. No network gave a shite about the television sets in Yellville or Mountain Home.

The Texas-SWC gravy train was running dry for Arkansas, so Piggies look for another set of teats to suckle. Hence, move to SEC.

Yet, somehow, some way, TEXAS "ran off" Arkansas and was the "only" team to hoard profits from third-tier programming.

Rich stuff, friends!

I think it will be hard for a power five system to survive in the four team playoff era.

Years back I thought the ACC looked ripe for plunder, but the scorched earth policies Texas did on the Big 12 have clearly left them the most vulnerable of the conferences.

I am sure Texas will land somewhere good eventually, but they will have to get used to a conference not revolving around them, and I am not sure the ego that is Texas can live with that.
