So what's your personal stance on this? Should it be a criminal act to get mad and say things without actually doing anything? Srs

JMO. I think there should be a very high bar for this type of thing to be a crime. Something along the lines of a credible threat of rape, serious physical assault or murder. Credible being a subjective and operative word in this type of case.

Saying something another person doesn't like or makes them really mad is just part of having a relationship or living in the real world. You would really have to convince me of malice with promise of physical consequences before I would think of anything criminal.

You don't know that for sure. He shouldn't have broken her phone and he should have to replace it. But we don't really know what happened regarding him threatening her.

If someone intentionally destroys someone else's personal property, there should be some consequences.

He should've been in trouble but should he have to stay in jail for 12 hrs because of it?

Typical of bammers to downplay their own players getting arrested. Anything to win. Meanwhile Nick Marshall getting a citation for marijuana possession blows up into a 20 page thread on this board with plenty of bammer tards trying to make a big deal out of it

Marijuana isn't a big deal. Just like breaking cell phones and threatening people isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. But not being smart about either, especially when you're high profile is unacceptable.

Does the same apply to my golf clubs? If so, I'm a walking around Jack the Ripper.

I got frustrated once and took a baseball bat to a printer that was giving me trouble. "Office Space" style...

I guess I should turn myself in too as I am obviously a danger to society.

If you go to jail, you can expect spend at least 12 hours and 1 minute in jail, so the private jail gets credit for the full day.

Thank Reagan for that, and the prison industrial complex.

They really need to call these "domestic violence" crimes like this something else. The word domestic violence has become synonymous with wife/girlfriend beating. Not what happened here.

Agreed. It waters down the serious nature of legitimate abuse.

This should be filed under arrested for dumbassery.
