Geno Smith was only suspended from the field roughly 15 days after his second DUI at Alabama. Geno Smith probably won't be suspended very long, either. Both are starters.

strange, was there a season already that i missed?

He wasn't arrested for the argument he had with her. He was arrested for breaking her phone and according to her witness he threatened her.

I was laughing at a Bama fan trying to use a nickname that has been used on a national stage to describe LSU.

It may have been used on a national stage to describe LSU (by who?), but my point was that lately - the past 6 years - it has been more appropriate to use it to describe Bama.

gumps are gonna start murdering their own family with all these offseason arrests. They can't live their lives without football and paw.

Again, LSU and Bama both have exactly 8 DBs in the NFL right now. When your back ups are getting drafted in the top 3 rounds you can call yourself DBU.

How bout when we have more 1st round DBs over the past 6 drafts than any other school? Can we do it then?

I hear your main point though.

Geno Smith was arrested and charged with his second DUI while at Alabama on March 28, 2015. As far as I can tell, he was suspended shortly after. However, he returned to the field on April 6th, 2015, progressed to second team on April 8th, 2015 and then took over first team on April 12th, 2015. I also saw him playing in the spring game.
Think Cyrus Jones will get kicked off is a pipe dream, and him getting suspended for a game or more is damned near impossible.

No. Bama DBs are garbage in the NFL so it's a wash. I kid, I kid.

Saban better hope he doesn't fall into the 3-4 loss category this year that's for sure.

I seriously doubt he was ARRESTED for a verbal fight. I'll wait till the details surface to decide what I really think about this though. It's looking like saban will have to explain yet another situation that he shouldnt have to though.

The details have already been posted by the OP. Jones broke her cell phone and verbally threatened her in front of a witness. Just absolute stupidity on his part.

They really need to call these "domestic violence" crimes like this something else. The word domestic violence has become synonymous with wife/girlfriend beating. Not what happened here.

Why the hell would you want him kicked off the team?

I don't, I haven't stated that. I was just saying that statement in general. He won't be kicked off and likely won't even be suspended.

All DV is serious, but this sounds minor. He should NOT be kicked off for this. Run some stadiums, etc.

Bad press, but nothing more.

I doubt he was saying he wants him kicked off. As a fellow AU fan I give two shits about him being kicked off. It isn't like any of us rivals are thinking "maaaan, if only CJ was outta there we'd have a chance". Lulz.

It's more about how many times can DV on the same team, same unit of that team be compromised until we all notice that there is a pattern.

As a defensive player myself I can only say that from the time of peewee football these guys are taught and praised on their aggression. It's hard to turn that off and on when it should apply.

If it truly was just busting up a phone and yelling then I honestly don't care. That's petty imo.

If he'll hit a phone, he'll hit a woman...
