Who should Saban have apologized too? Who deserved the apology?
Exactly why is this about Saban instead of Taylor. He is the one who should be apologizing.
Hell Saban already dismissed him, it is done. He is the coach of a football team not a member of the court system. Let them do their job.

I am glad the response was swift, but it bothers me he was giving the chance in the first place to up a spot in the incoming class. It is what it is and I agree that Saban does not need to apologize and I believe neither does Taylor. Taylor's apology would not be sincere since he seems to repeat the pattern of behavior.

@travisreier: Which story should we believe in the Taylor fiasco? Not sure, but probably another reason why it needed to be someone else's fiasco.

Obviously, as everyone here knows, the accuser has recanted and been arrested for filing a false report.Should it come out that the entire event was falsified and no incident of domestic violence occurred, what should we do? Should we let him back on? Should we keep our decision as is?

I say we help him find a new landing spot and be done with it. Get rid of this distraction before it can possibly backfire again during the season.

We need to do whatever is necessary to make sure this incident doesn't ruin his chances at a career and a future. Whether that means letting him back on the team, or actually finding him a spot somewhere else, I think it would be pretty shitty of Bama to preach "2nd chances" and then rid him of that 2nd chance over what may be false charges.
If she recanted, it would truly look like Bama was just using him should they simply "wash their hands" of him and he didn't do anything wrong.

She really sounds like she realized that by reporting him to the police she shot her golden goose, a la Ray Rice's GF/wife. Still, with this complete recantation do you think there's any chance Saban let's him back on the team?

The 24-year old female accuser involved in the incident that led to former Alabama defensive tackle Jonathan Taylor being arrested on domestic violence charges Saturday night has since told police that the bruises officers saw on her neck that night were self-inflicted, according to court documents.
quote:
She also said the damage officers saw to a door in her residence was done prior to Saturday night.
Her explanation to officers was that she was seeking revenge on Taylor, who she said she suspected was cheating on her again after cheating on her in December, according to court documents.

"We" don't need to do anything. Did the closet door recant?

No, but the woman has said the door damage was pre-existing. Is she telling the truth? Doubtful, but she went all in on her decision to try to clear Taylor's name.

So every hole in a door or bruise on a chick in Tuscaloosa is Taylor's problem now?
People are all "oh but recanting is typical victim behavior". She said she lied out of revenge. Typical angry-bitch behavior. This is ridiculous lol

What a shame. A vengeful woman uses the social stigma of DV and the player's past to get back at him for "maybe" cheating on her.
A life ruined for no damn reason.

Best news I have heard this off season.
And I am not even sure how to respond to those defending him or think he should get to stay because she recanted. I will never support a win at all cost approach like some of you.
