I just want the guy the coaches feel is the best option. CMR/Schotty get the benefit of the doubt from me, they both make close to or more than a 6+ figure salary & aren't gonna jeopardize that by not starting the QB they thinks gives them the best chance to win.

Watching how Vandy declared a starter after a long offseason battle for the spot, then promptly yanked him during the first game and threw an even worse QB out there, was bad. It was an absolute disaster. And it ruined that QBs confidence.
If there's a clear separation in skill, I think they'll give the starter a fairly long leash. If it's close, then maybe game time is the best way to test their mettle. If someone can't operate against Vanderbilt in week two, under pressure for their job, then maybe they can't handle the pressure of playing Alabama on ESPN gameday.

I hope the best guy starts and is successful but if UGA fails to reach Atlanta due to mediocre QB play maybe the door opens for Eason in 2016.

I'm sorry...I don't care if Eason eventually turns into Joe Montana....we DO NOT need to waste Chubbs last year with a freshman QB. That would frick up my whole 2016 natty vibe.

Mett played with the number 2s against the number 2s on defense. Park and Ramsey played against the same guys. It's a small sample size...like really small. But it's the only fair comparison we have.

Your vibe would also be fricked if the best QB sits.

Well....looking at the stats from the second scrimmage it's pretty clear it's only a two man race now.....with J-Park the odd man out.
Bummer.
Richt sounded shocked that Bauta and Ramsey's stats were so close when he read them....as if one looked much better on the field, but he didn't really say which one that was.

Does Jacob Park remind anyone of the white guy in Barbershop? They sure sound the same.

The job is Ramsey's. Bauta is his immediate backup and will only play a lot if Ramsey persists in making mistakes that could lose games. Park is pretty far behind both of them, but is still young and has plenty of time to improve if he decides to stay with the team after Eason shows up.

So let me get this straight....
The guy who marched 70+ yards down the field twice in 2 plays is out in your opinion because the other 2 guys took 15 plays each to march down the field every time?
Is that how this game works now? The slower and less efficient you are the better?
Do you know how many drives each of them actually played or are you just going 32 pass attempts is more than 30 is more than 7 = answer?
And how many times did Park hand the ball off compared to Ramsey and Bauta? Or is throwing attempts the ONLY measurement of playing time now?

One of my sources tells me Ramsey is in the doghouse for partying too much and not knowing the playbook as well as expected. fWIW

Yea the word around campus is that Brice's work ethic isn't on par with the position he is in, fighting to start for a sec contender. Especially compared to the machine that is Bauta

If you're refering to J-Park, then "Yes".
It's clear now, that Ramsey and Bauta are taking on more of the playbook and are the two being challenged to manage the offense in it's entirety.
Try to wrap your beefhead around this if you can.....There's only a limited number of scrimmages allowed.
ALso interesting that when asked about the QB stats, Richt read Bauta's and Ramsey's stats and spoke of the their performance and the QB battle with no mention of Park.

BeefDawg = J-Park?
Nah, I just find it amusing how often people make poor assumptions by completely ignoring logic and misinterpreting information. And then they make ignorant statements based on this.
Like Park is "obviously out" or "obviously 3rd string" because he only threw 7 passes in a scrimmage.
I could care less who starts. The coaches will start whomever gives us the best chance to win. But we got some daft minds in this place sometimes making dumb statements.

Kind of like how you ignore how long it's been since Park has even taken a snap with the starters.....
BeefDawg, Please write one of your unnecessarily long-winded posts rationalizing this simple fact.
Thanks.

So?
Again, do you know how many drives each of them played?
Do you know how many times each of them handed off the ball?
Picture this:
Ramsey played 4 drives, threw 32x, handed ball off 5x, resulting in 2 passing TD's, 2 ints, no rushing TD's, and 2 punts.
Bauta played 4 drives, threw 30x, handed ball off 5x, ran ball himself 5x, resulting in 2 TD's, 1 int, no rushing TD's, and 2 punts.
Park played 4 drives, threw 7x, handed ball off 15x, ran ball himself 5x, resulting in 2 70-yard pass plays, 1 TD, no ints, and no punts.
Who there would everyone in the universe say had the best game?
And just because Richt didn't mention Park means nothing. As if he's going to give a single hint or clue as to who's actually winning the QB battle. Like in this history of CMR coaching at UGA, when has he EVER done that?
