If FOX gets popular enough the Jews will move in and make it "more objective".

What does this even mean?

Nothing. Nothing. Just blind and ignorant antisemitism for no reason other than blindness and ignorance. And antisemitism.

Not without Al-Waleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz al Saud's approval.

CNN is one of the most unbiased networks
That was true in the 1980's. More and more that is not the case. Certainly not in the last 10 years. Frankly, I think Al Jazeera has better news than CNN when it comes to staight reporting.

Anyone who thinks the news networks were every 'unbiased' in the least has a cursory understanding of American political history, at best.

Al Jazeera America & BBC World News are far better than anything FOXN,CNN or MSNBC can produce.

I exclusively watch Fox news but when it comes to hotness Robin Meade > all.

ALL of the networks promote an agenda. People watch for confirmation bias IMHO. Its more for entertainment value than anything - as Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly, and these Fox News hot legs have demonstrated.
I don't believe that makes people more informed, just more brainwashed, to a degree. Real (objective) news is more available in print media or via BBC, the Economist, etc.
So when I want to get a boner, Fox News is the best bet...
Cheers!

My hunch is this is because FOX actively promotes itself as the sole bastion of objectivity in news and routinely shits on the rest of the media as liberally biased.
Basically.
FOX just piggybacked off what Limbaugh had successfully done for years on the radio. Rush basically made the entire conservative media empire possible by carving out a niche on talk radio that exploded.
In order to make that happen, Rush first convinced his listeners that the mainstream media (I think he coined the term) leans left and couldn't be trusted.
I listened to Rush routinely during the Clinton years, especially at the height of the Hillarycare debate. That was his golden age. FOX News was born not too long after. They got rolling strong with the Lewinsky scandal.
I listen to very little talk radio or FOX News these days. Just pimping their wares to sell more product.

Speaking of Limbaugh, I didn't know (until just now) that Limbaugh's TV show (which ran from '92 to '96) was produced by Roger Ailes, while Ailes was working for what was to later become MSNBC.
Fox News launched in 1996.
Extremely biased article from Rolling Stone but still intriguing historical context

They are the only credible national news source. Not perfect but certainly the only credible one.

Used to be a fan. I'd lived > 10 years without a celebrity "crush" and she became mine for a time. This when she was "new". Watched her a little the other day and she was acting silly as shite. Like a girl who's been told she's cute so many times that her personality is stunted and spoiled forever.

She's fine as shite. Miss America and all that jazz. Would bang.

No answers in this thread seem to discern between news coverage and opinion formats. All of the networks have opinion shows, like Maddow and O'reilly. What the pollis about are the news shows. Not opinion.

What is reported on and the significance given to it. Fox News is the best. The pundit shows ??? Not so much.

I agree.
And pundit shows are usually pretty damn stupid anyways. Regardless of network.

I don't think rush had to 'convince' his listeners of anything. I was young, but I still recall my parents complaining that all the news was very biased toward progressivism before Rush came along.
And when Rush stepped up, it was by no means a sure thing. Talk radio was a dead industry when he debuted. No one thought it was anything you could make money off of.
I like Rush a lot, can't stand to even listen to Hannity, and like Michael Berry more than any other. I spend a lot of time driving.
Fox and other 'conservative' news outlets give media a balance it didn't have before. The idea that news media somehow only became biased recently is revisionist history. The media has been biased toward liberalism for a solid 80 years, and before that the political divisions as they are today were unrecognizable. The only thing that has happened is that we now have other outlets such as Fox or the internet to compare to the NYT or NBC.
