For Real, Just who are Kentucky's Conference Rivals?

I know everybody wants to be KY's rival, just like they do Alabama in football. But does Kentucky really have a conference rival anymore? In the old days they did. Not sure anymore.

Despite Florida being down this season, they're UK's rival of at least the last decade or so.
The rivalry with Tennessee really emerged again under Pearl and I think Tyndall will revive it as well.

They don't have one, but we've beaten them 67 times, more than any other team.

Closest thing to a rival in the SEC has to be Florida. However, Kentucky does have pretty good OOC rivalries are with Louisville, North Carolina, Indiana and Duke. I think they have plenty of good rivalries.

Florida would be the closest right now. Tennessee and Arky spent some time there as well.

Yea. Kind of the product of the SEC being so bad, historically, at basketball outside of Kentucky

Auburn scored the second most points vs them this season in BB so they have a good argument in that sport.

It's hard for me to say that there is one. No one else in the SEC comes close to Kentucky, and just about everyone else is football first.

And we are the only other basketball school in the conference

I don't think they've ever had one.

Isn't Vanderbilt a basketball school or did they switch to baseball full-time?

It's probably different programs during different era
LSU in the 80s and early 90s
Florida since 2000
otherwise, the NCAA might be their biggest threat

Vandy is an Academic school, with a solid baseball program

Florida is easily our conference rival as of right now. They had a down year this year but Billy Donovan's time there as well as many of our games against each other over the last decade or so easily give them the nod. Tennessee has fallen off since Pearl leaving. Arkansas has had a good run against us lately but they just haven't been very successful. If they can capitalize on this season and continue it going forward, we can revisit Kentucky/Arkansas rivalry that was very heated years and years ago.

Probably LSU since LSU handed them their worst loss ever at Rupp Arena.

You're all our rivals. All of you.

The hottest conference rivalry UK has ever had was with Tennessee when Ray Mears was the coach at UT. It was white hot. Second hottest rivalry was with LSU under Dale Brown. It was more fun than anything, though. I really liked Dale Brown.
The most intense rivalry UK has ever had was out of conference. Indiana under Bob Knight and UK under Joe B. Hall was a bitter battle every year. I doubt it could ever be equaled.
