I don’t see it. Based on what I can find we’d owe him 75% of his remaining contract which would be $37.5 million + $8.39 million buying out his assistants (based on the info I can find). With Marrow leaving that does get us off the hook for his $1.3 million salary but we still have hire someone for the position so it’s still gonna cost something. And don’t forget, Stoops has in his contract that we have to pay him the full amount within 60 days of the notice to terminate. If it were spread out in installments it would be much easier to do but at the end of the day you are gonna have to pay at least $45+ million and you have to pay most of that within 2 months of firing. It’s just not gonna happen.

Fortunately the bats came alive later. We still have a shot at winning this region as much of the others teams starting pitching is a bit more suspect. Then again we need our defense to cut down on the errors and our batters to get engaged.

Based on what I’ve seen this is very winnable. Our biggest issue is our bullpen reliability.
