Better All-Time Baseball Program. Bama, Auburn, or Mississippi State?

Case for Alabama:
Have been national runner up 2x in program history compared to Mississippi State being runner up once.
lead all-time head to head 211-174 over State and handily lead Auburn..
Have more SEC regular season titles (14) than Mississippi State (10) and Auburn (6)
Case for Mississippi State:
Have been to more College World Series than Alabama (9-5)
Case for Auburn: Hard to make a case? Bo Jackson, Frank Thomas, and Tim Husdson played there?
Alabama and Mississippi State have won 7 sec tournament titles. Auburn has won 3.
I gotta go with Bama on this one. 4 More sec regular season titles than State and 8 more than Auburn, being in the CWS championship game more times than State, and handily leading the all-time head to head outweighs having more CWS appearances.

Cowbell City dude....
(but not by much)
edit: Now if you're talking strictly records and numbers as your criteria, you could make a case for Alabama.
If you're talking tradition, fan base and following, stadium, alumni in the majors, post season appearances, Coach Polk, etc. - it's State....but again not by too much....
They're almost equal. Bama went to the finals in '97, State very recently. State's been to Omaha more times, but that should not be the sole criterium....

Like most things, recent events will sway most.

Auburn is clearly the winner here

State. Unfortunately Auburn has sucked since Baird retired.

Outside of just records, state probably wins the alumni/following war and we have all 10 of the top 10 attendance records.
I'm completely biased and say State but I honestly didn't realize Bama was that close in comparison.

The question should be: Does Alabama or Mississippi State have a better baseball program?
Idk how Auburn fits in this category. Other than a few high profile players, they have nothing compared to UA or MSU.

Go ahead and get Auburn out of the picture. Congrats that bama is better at some things but lets tell the whole picture
State has an overall better all-time winning percentage.
State has more tourney, super regional, and CWS appearances.
State has a higher winning percentage in SEC Tournament
State holds the top ten attendance record, the most attended game in the CWS, the most attended Super Regional Ever, and 23 of the top 25 crowds ever to watch a college baseball game on campus

the only advantage bammer has over state is regular season championships and the great majority of those championships came when absolutely nobody cared about college baseball

Better All-Time overall is a 2 horse race.
...Mississippi State based on overall win %, 10 more NCAA regionals, 2 more Super Regionals, 4 more CWS appearances.
what a coincidence that both programs came into the 2015 season with 2496 wins each.
Mississippi State
2496-1460-28 (.630%)
876-755-1 (.537%) in SEC play
10 SEC Championships
7 SEC Tournament Championships
34 NCAA Regionals
5 Super Regionals
9 CWS
1 National Runner-Up
NCAA Tournament Record 94-76 (.553%)
Alabama
2496-1517-23 (.621%)
910-743-4 (550%) in SEC play
14 SEC Championships
7 SEC Tournament Championships
24 NCAA Regionals
3 Super Regionals
5 CWS
2 National Runner-Up
NCAA Tournament Record 70-49 (.588%)
better All-Time in SEC play only would favor Alabama. 21 combined SEC Championships and higher all-time SEC win %. Mississippi State has 17 combined SEC Championships - reg. season/tournament.

Why are y'all arguing about who's the better 2nd tier baseball program?
Posted on 2/26/15 at 1:37 pm to OffroadSportsman89
Alabama
5 CWS appearances
14 SEC titles
7 SEC tournament titles
Auburn
4 CWS appearances
6 SEC titles
3 SEC tournament titles
Mississippi State
9 CWS appearances
10 SEC titles
7 SEC tournament titles
Do you get hardware just for making the CWS?

With 4 more CWS appearances, 11 more tournament appearances(according to Wiki), I would say MSU. Though, it is close, but even in a tie, I would give the edge to State due to Ron Polk.
