Every year me and my brothers go to one game. Last season we went to Little Rock and had a blast. We love going to Athens but trying to go to as many stadiums as possible. What's the better venue in everyone's oponion, Nasville for the Vanderbilt game or Knoxville for the UT game? We might just say screw it and go to either Alabama game in Athens or the WLOCP. Been to Jacksonville and loved it but it's been awhile. What do you guys think? The Vanderbilt game would be the easiest for us getting tickets for free

Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. Tailgating, food, alcohol, fans, overall environment.
End thread
ETA: I probably should have read the entire post. My fault. I’d go the Knoxville route, because the game day experience is off the charts. If you prefer the bar scene, I’d say Nashville.

Knoxville has a great stadium and a shitty bar scene. Nashville has a crap stadium and a good bar scene. That being said, you can see the game from literally any seat in the Vandy stadium and tickets are always cheap. We always suck dick when we play there, though.

Yea going there this year for a cupcake game. Been there a bunch my wife graduated from there along with her whole family. I love night games there. But we don't play them there this season

Yea Vanderbilt stadium does look like shite and that horn or whatever it is they blow would get annoying

Vandy's stadium is dog shite but Nashville is the bomb

Tiger Stadium is the tits and you'd be a fool to pass up an opportunity to go (whether UGA is playing or not). Especially if you can splurge a little and stay in NO the Thursday and/or Friday before the game.

Yea we going for the mcneese state game. Her family won't give up the good games. But we are leaning towards vanderbilt game just for the atmosphere. And I have always heard it's mostly uga fans anyways

For the best all around game and stadium experience I'd say Knoxville gets the nod. It'll be a good time with the game in town and there's plenty of fun to be had. Also scenery-wise it's one of my favorite areas of the state.
Otherwise, as far as the cities go Nashville >> Knoxville and it's not even close.

Neyland stadium is dump. Pee troughs, crappy PA, stupid tight seating. I found the tailgating to be kinda lame (other than on river). Knoxville has a couple decent bar areas but nothing close to Nashville.
Best Venue is Nashville...unless they make it an 11:30am game in the rain and we lose
Nashville won't feel as much like a college game as Knoxville will.

As a whole, I enjoy my trips to Knoxville for gamedays much more than the ones to Nashville. It's a much more fun environment to be in.

I thought Neyland was a cool stadium on the inside. I didn't think it was any worse than Sanford as far as the quality of the facility, although I can't speak for the pee troughs.
My favorite part of visiting Knoxville is when it's in the rear view mirror ,although I will say it has improved over the past few years. Not enough, though.

Obviously not the question but the hell hole that is Columbia has got to be the worst. I have never more strongly wanted to leave a place than after our loss there this year.

Yea South Carolina likes to show off their trains but I heard most of the tailgating is by warehouse/storage units. I'll pass on ever going there. Now Columbia Missouri I would love to go see

The City of Columbia, SC isn’t all bad. They have a pretty good bar scene. As for the stadium, the location is a head scratcher. I’ve been to a few UGA/SCAR games, it doesn’t feel like a CF venue. Not to mention, it’s like a concrete jungle, don’t venture too far away.

Neyland is a good venue for a game but the city itself offers nothing. Nashville is a nice tourist town so plan to stay a couple of days and nights. LSU Tiger Stadium is a fantastic game and tailgate sight, and a Saturday night game is a must for any fan. Walk around the tailgate area with Georgia gear on and you'll get fed some great food. Fantastic fans.
We had great fun in Columbia, Mo., when we went there, but Oklahoma State was the best away game we've been to in a long while. Locals there were amazed that so many Georgia fans would travel that far for a football game. But everyone was really nice in shops and restaurants. We went to the Okie State bookstore for souveniers in our Georgia gear. The manager gave my grandson (4 years old then) a T-shirt and hat and had a clerk take our pictures with her for the school paper and her display board at the bookstore.
The Arizona State game trip was fun too. Weather was great, and a few fans we met there were coming to Athens for the return game. They met up with us in Athens for taligating.

Knoxville has a great stadium
WTF?
There is no worse fan experience inside a stadium than Neyland.
Outside/tailgating is okay, but that stadium is awful.
First off, you get half a butt cheek for your seat. It's no wonder they get 100,000 or whatever fans in there. Second, access to bathrooms and concessions is terrible.

This 100%. However, as bad as Rocky Top is, that shite is crazy loud. It literally shakes the stadium. It is more of a college feel than Nashville.
Now the 3 Down for What bull shite is annoying on TV, so I’ll reserve the right to change my suggestion if they continue to play that garbage in ’15.

This is true. I went last year and the stadium wasn't even full, but when they had us on the ropes it was at least as loud as I have heard Sanford get and I got the shaking sensation too. I love Sanford but its design really does limit noise retention... :roll eyes:
Athens as a town beats the hell outa Knoxville as a city though.

The stadium is a dump. I was at the 2010 game and felt like I was watching a game in an oven. shite location too. I did spend Friday night, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning drinking in RV park though.
