re: 2016 Ole Miss Football Recruiting Thread

Don't worry about recruiting this class. Saban, Mullen, and other coaches have been using this against us all year and nothing has happened yet.

I'm willing to bet the football stuff stems from Saunders though. The NCAA just finished their investigation into ULL, and we're a stop on the way back to Indianapolis for them concerning Saunders. It makes sense, and more news about the severity of the issues would've come up by now if it were an allegation against the current staff. The WBB and T&F stuff is almost definitely the products of former staffs and won't affect foosball anyway. The sky's still up until the NCAA themselves tell me it's falling, which should be after Shea graduates at the earliest.

The real bummer here is that it will crowd out this weekend's recruiting updates. I want a continuous stream of nuggets/tidbits, etc.

You guys seem to be looking at this the wrong way. Initially one would think horrible timing...(no way around the timing because you'd prefer after NSD) but we are paid to recruit as well as coach. What better opportunity do you have to explain to recruits what's currently happening and the need for no concern, other than on the official visit. The majority of the big names we are still after are on campus with their parents. OM controls the message. Of course you can't give out to much in a ongoing investigation, but Freeze has the ability to talk about trust and the relationship and family with these recruits and PARENTS and assure this doesn't have anything to do with the current staff. Even better the open period is Sunday when they leave so no other coach "within the rules" has the ability to sit down with these guys and pump fear of impending doom. Lol

Well I've been reading the pay-sites and feel a lot better. I think Freeze and staff were ready for this and can talk with recruits about this.

I'm told the Ole Miss Notice of Allegations doesn't contain any surprises. Most of it predates Hugh Freeze and Ole Miss knew it was coming.
