So what does the 1-year probation actually mean if you get a scholarship reduction...and how many scholly's are we actually talking about?

Former OL Jared Duke's FB post

For those of you thinking that the changes we've seen the Ole Miss football culture go through for the last 5 years are only due to "cheatin Ole Mi$$," listen up. Hi, I'm Jared. I was there. Get off your message board and listen to somebody who has real information. I love your passion about this stuff, but here's what actually happened. Here's your big story.

In our first two seasons, my teammates and I won 6 total games. 6. So, as a group, we decided we were tired of that and we worked our butts off. And it wasn't particularly easy. Let's take a moment to wrap our minds around this. We were the laughing stock of the SEC. Would you not want to do everything in your power to make a difference?

So Coach Freeze along with the best AD in the nation got hired. They used that momentum to help stoke that fire and eventually changed the culture around Ole Miss. Get over it. Stories like this are why we enjoy sports. Right? Don't we like the underdog? I'm sorry your team may have lost in the process. Again, it's sports. You're gonna have to get over that at some point. Ole Miss is a threat. But looking past the efforts of my teammates and I and just writing it off as cheating, is at best childish and unoriginal. This is the part where you start feeling ashamed.

P.s. The allegations against Ole Miss that just came out this morning predates my time there. Which means they have nothing to do with this post. Which means they have nothing to do with all the top recruiting classes and our recent success. ?#?hottytoddy?

Nope same thing state got for Redmond is my guess

Don't think so...That involved paying a player. Tunsil thing was resolved with a 6 game suspension.. Redman sat out an entire year. So that is half of what it was....just in that. Academic fraud could lead to some vacated wins from back in the Nutt era....and could be some visits and maybe a scholly or two. Nothing earth shattering at all. The biggest thing will be the fact that we are put on probation which last for years. I will say that the rival fans will be disappointed that Freeze has done this on the up and up. That part will shock them.

Assuming we had been fully compliant with the earlier Tunsil stuff, the program shouldn't be able to face any more punishment from the NCAA regarding Tunsil, right? They reinstated him, after all.

Probably, unless they can prove that somehow the staff was involved, which would change everything. Very doubtful though.

We are losing a couple scholarships, no biggie. I may go rile up some folks on the Rant to think this is actually serious. Then their letdown melt will be even bigger
