A few weeks ago The Advocate reported on Chavis departure from LSU and noted that aTm had not formally hired Chavis yet because his buyout was not settled. Does anyone know if that has passed?

And I know JC is not coming back and BTW all of LSU's coaches contracts are in place and approved.
I am also curious if aTm put "the clause" in his contract stating that if Sumlin leaves his contract is not guaranteed.

As to LSU's claim against Chavis for the buyout, if that case hinges upon Chavis signing a letter of intent that didn't include all material terms, and ultimately did not result in agreement reduced to a formal contract (particularly where the impasse came on the issue of the contract term), then LSU has a really weak case.

We'll figure it all out.

I cant quote any but our local media leads us to believe that HC clause is standard fare...

We gave your money to our lawyers. You need to call them.

Well yeah, that is basically what a yearly contract is. That is the normal.

Latest I have heard is that it will be worked out as soon as LSU pays the $400,000 they owe A&M for backing out on games they promised to play a few years ago.
It's all good.

LSU is probably waiting until next November, when after LSU beats Aggie unmercifully for the 5th year in a row, we will actually write Aggie a check for one American dollar with a little note that says "thanks and don't say we didn't warn you".

The unresolved issue has nothing to do with A&M. It's not A&M's responsibility to pay off Chavis' personal debts.

I rarely see an LSU fan start a thread about A&M.

You don't stay rich by giving out money undeservedly.

Question: why do yall say TU instead of The University of Texas?

B/c UT is Tenn
and its a derisive term that is short for "the university" which so many of them liked to refer to their school in Austin as... In a snotty way of course.

We actually refer to that school as tu
The real university of Texas is Texas A&M.
Thank you for asking.
PS: TU is the University of Tennessee.
