I know UNC is probably one of them, but who would you suspect would be the others?
Are you going to be surprised if more of the 18 D1 Schools were from the ACC/Big10 conferences, or would you be more surprised if it wasn't them?
Also, what are the chances 0%-100% that the NCAA even tries to do anything, "real" about it?
I'm going to go ahead and say that I think two of the schools are FSU and mizzou. Both schools already got in trouble for their lack in care in handling all the rape that goes on there.
I would be surprised to see more than 2 SEC schools on there, I think the Big10, ACC and Pac10 will have more schools on the list than the SEC.
The NCAA will do absolutely nothing more than a letter of probation, and ask the coaches/instructors/faculty to be trained about compliance (sign some letters.)

They named some Schools they're accusing of not educating athletes in this link above. Could this be related to the Deadspin leak? Possbily? I think the timing of both stories is interesting.
Only 2 SEC UGA and Auburn.
I called FSU was going to be involved before this announcement.

Remember that academic fraud scandal at UNC, the one that revealed the term "student-athlete" to be just as hollow and fraudulent as you always assumed it was?
Via The Chronicle of Higher Education, the NCAA has announced that it is investigating allegations of academic misconduct at 20 college campuses, 18 of which are Division I schools. The NCAA has not revealed precisely which schools are being investigated, nor the exact nature of the allegations, but the The Chronicle reports that they include college athletes receiving impermissible benefits from professors and academic advisors.

That just means that 20 schools are shitty at covering it up. Other than prestigious schools with a hard-nosed administration, this has to happen at EVERY school. Then again, UNC is one of the best public schools in the country and it still happened.

The NCAA can't properly investigate 1 school these days. Will be interesting to see how bad they bungle a 20 school investigation.

That's the thing, if it affects enough schools then there will be no punishment.

Let's be honest - NCAA football today IS academic fraud.

I will be shocked if it's LSU because we lose too many good players due to academic ineligibility.
Are there other SEC schools who lose players due to academic ineligibility? I feel like we are the only program that does, but there must be others and I just don't hear about it.
One SEC school comes to mind, but I ain't starting the sh**storm.

The last time UNC got in trouble they drug us down with it because of Weslye Saunders.

Based on what?

Almost certainly not Vanderbilt.
Every other team in the conference should be nervous.

Vanderbilt with Franklin or Vanderbilt without Franklin?

It isn't us, our Compliance Department has absolute power and they love to use it. See Akiem Hicks and Shep's first four games of his senior year.

For academic fraud? I could see FSU since it has happened in the past, but I would highly doubt UF is involved.

I'm not sure why, but I've got a feeling Louisville is stinking up this list somewhere. The Cards always struck me as a shady program.
