Bama fan who became famous after Facebook posts he made admitted to neglagent welding, etc.
Sad ending, just saw it on WKRG news in Mobile. Didn't realize he was from here.
Also real sorry reporting by WKRG to blame his lack of getting hired after being fired on him hanging a Bama flag at Kyle Field. Think his not getting hired had a lot more to do with his stupid Facebook posts.
Suicide news
Original SDS article about his original comments and subsequent termination from job

Obviously that's the worst possible end to the story there could be, but man if this isn't another lesson on why not to post jokes on Facebook that have to do with your job, etc.
Lots of people's livelihood's come to an end over stupid stuff posted to Facebook.
I was most disappointed that WKRG in Mobile made his termination and ultimate suicide being a result of hanging the flag. That had nothing to do with either of the issues he faced. It all resulted from the stupid Facebook "jokes" he made.
It's one thing to joke and poke at opposing fanbases but you have to know "jokes" about putting 10-20K people's live in jeopardy is beyond anything that can be considered a joke.

I hate he did this but it just goes to show regardless of this being about something as trivial as football, You never know where a series of bad decisions will lead to.

Really hard to feel sorry for a man that sabotaged construction at any stadium, especially mine.

Sad whenever someone takes their own life.

Am I having deja vu? Thought that was reported on here about 3 months ago?

Did he actually sabotage anything or was it just a joke post?

If it was, I apologize. Don't know why the local news in Mobile would be reporting of his suicide tonight if it happened months ago though.

I think they looked and couldn't find any actual sabotage committed by him.

I can't remember the exact details but the contractor stated his role was not actually to weld anything.
He was like a grunt carrying shite to the welders so the jokes were obviously nothing more than jokes (though in exceptionally bad taste)

Roll damn Tide, I guess.

dude
and he didn't sabotage anything. He made jokes in bad taste. He apparently paid dearly for that though I'm sure it wasn't that simple and his entire life is pretty unlikely to be summed up over his Kyle Field construction job

Don't be a dick. It wasn't sabatoge, more like a prank

The SDS article is from July and in the other article his sister said that he hung himself almost 2 months later. So I guess this happened sometime in September.?

I think it was. Or, it was a joke/rumor or something, but I heard this a few months ago.

The only sad thing is that an adult let a game consume his life to the level that he lost his job and killed himself over it. He dug his own grave.
