Maybe it's Lane. He's been great this year as well.

It was supposed to be a rebuilding year.

Well he did hire him and everyone laugh and thought he has lost his mind, and he showed that he is not afraid of change.

Yes. Definitely Saban's best job.
He's overcome a mountain of obstacles compared to his peers.

You lose 15 of 22 starters and every offensive playmaker you have. Only Bama fans consider that rebuilding.

Yes it is
Best at Bama I mean, although 2008 definitely has an argument

Absolutely. He even alluded to it somewhat by his giddy smile. No QB ( you all know you said it) 2 returning OL starters, new OC who was supposed to be cancer and not good anyway, Trey DePriest the only returning impact player defensively and the Gus Bus charging along, Bama was dead. There were plenty of talking heads that said it is OVER. Nick handled all of that with extreme precision. As Saban said, Christion Jones was throwing blocks instead of catching passes, Blake Sims being a RB, scout team guy, special teams guy, never complained. Vogler knowing his role and not trying to do too much. Same with Fowler. After Ole Miss they could have dropped 3 or 4 more but the staff and players went to work, fixed issues and now are the 1st number team in the 1st college football playoff. Who'd have thunk it? 2009 and 2011 were way more talented but this was a better TEAM.

2001 at LSU in my opinion was his best coaching year in college. LSU came out of nowhere to win the SEC and destroy Illinois in the Sugar Bowl. That LSU team had about 1/10th the talent that this Alabama team has right now and his "program" was not in place yet.

Just a really fortunate year in terms of schedule. State and Auburn would have both beaten them at home.

Great season.
The spread concepts and pace elements that Kiffin used this season were very different for a Saban coached team.
Won an SEC championship.

Yes. They developed young talent and coached their team to make fewer mistakes than everyone else. That's all on the coach.
